Some news from Nisse. He lost a lot of weight lately so he and I went to the vet last Tuesday. He was such a good boy and didn't flinch when the vet took blood. Well, the blood test results are not good. He has a thyroid hyperfunction (is that what it's called in English) and all the blood values except for the kidney were bad. Now he has to take a pill every day and I hope that once the thyroid condition improves, the rest will be better, too. We will have another test in about five weeks. I'll keep you updated...

I'm sorry to hear about this. Sounds like a moderately hopeful prognosis, doesn't it?

Yes, Roger, that's what I think. The vet said she can't give any prognosis on how long he will live but can you ever? It might be that his heart is damaged from the stress of this thyroid condition. It is beating very fast but should slow down now with the meds. I think he is a tough little guy and he lives in a very stress free and loving environment. As always, we are happy about every day we can spend together. And we take good care of Nisse and Mysan.

Oh, little Nisse! How old is Nisse? Did I miss photos of him? Can you re-post them?

I love hearing about the loving environment... I too treasure every day I get to spend with my baby pets.

Oh yes, Roger, absolutely!

He is taking his pill every evening now. I can't really tell a difference yet. Maybe he is a little more relaxed and not that nervous anymore. I hope he will gain some wait soon. Just bought his favourite cat food today - well it was good last night, of course he might have changed his mind by now...
