@BorisKitten,
I was going to say, you just can't have too many cat pictures, just like you can't have too many cats. Then I thought of this woman in Russia:

Seems... creepy.

@mm25075,
Isn't that weird? She has 130 cats in a 2-room apartment. I suppose her favorite hobby is cat-box cleaning(?)

So what should be the limit on the number of cats one can reasonably care for? I've had 5 at a time, and that was fine.

10?

@BorisKitten,
I guess it depends on how much room you have and how many you can afford ro keep healthy. if I had a farm and some acreage away from other people and roads I'm sure i would end up with about a dozen or so outside 'farm' cats and maybe 2 or 3 indoor babies. I don't know I think 10-12 is pushing the limit.

This Christmas was a full on "Kitty Christmas" in my house.

I bought them an artificial tree with kitty friendly ornaments. (no glass, lead paint or otherwise harmful materials) and decorated it with the intention that the kitties would spend a good portion of their time trying to knock it over. The base of the tree prevented them from knocking it over, but I did manage to figure out which ornaments were their favs. One ornament in particular was quite popular, a "Hedwig" from Harry Potter (a stuffed white owl) My sugar kitty would seek it out no matter how many times I put it back up near the top of the 6 foot tree. She would climb up it's center and knock the owl a good one till it flew out onto the floor!

I also bought them TWO kitty condo towers. Smile I got one on sale at Petmart ($40.00 off) and another from a street salesman who was ready to go home at the end of the day and didn't want to schelp the largest one back. (paid $100 cash for a retail price item of $180- Yay!) Anyway, even my older two kitties have been running up and down the towers and playing 'king of the hill'.

The other day, I bought some fresh organic cat nip and a squirrel that has a velcro opening in it's tummy for the cat nip. I must tell you, each of the kitties have been trying to hide the squirell from the others. At one point, the skittish black kitty was carrying the squirell around in her mouth, meowing and cooing and tearing it's tail to get at the nip. Smile

Hilarity ensued yesterday when I was sitting at my computer desk, with Wiley in a basket on top of my hutch...she actually spit out a piece of the squirell at me and it landed on my keyboard by my hand. "Splut!" - Yes, this was her way of telling me..."It's out of NIP, mom!"

@mm25075,
OMG, that is TOO cute! Kittehs love Christmas, as far as I can tell.

The tree, the ornaments, the Cat-Tree... Lucky babies!

With as many cats as that lady has, I imagine it is tough to know if all of them are healthy. Ugh...and yes, I am creeped out by the way those kitties run around so wildly hungry. That is a serious issue that lady has....just sayin...oy.

@mm25075,
Agreed! A further interview w/her revealed she neutered the males but didn't spay the females, leading to a whole lot of noise (from the cat-girls) at night, about which the neighbors complained.

Even the sound of ALL those cats pounding around, lookin' for food, is creepy to me... and I'm a total cat-person!

One CAN, in fact, have too many cats!

Stumbled onto this photograph by accident. Trying to force a creative epiphany on myself in regards to figuring a business name for Dadpad's hypothetical American restaurant.

tsar..

That Possum-cat had the option of being inside, with the aircon on - it's bloody hot today!

(but he doesn't like it blowing on him)
