Ron Paul sounded damn good, true, but his stance ignores the reality of the consequences of turning our backs. Rudy: We broke it, so we own it, and therefore are obligated to deal with it. Check.

The consequences of turning our backs is exactly the same as the consequencces of not turning our backs, with less death on our end.

It isn't just the situation, it's the shitty leadership. I have zero confidence that anything which could salvage the situation will be done.

On the 'drug prices' question, not a single one of them actually attempted to answer the question. They all talked about health insurance instead.

Giuliani ducks the prescription medicine question..

.. and worse, comes out with the "socialised medicine" canard re the Democrats' health insurance programs. Rolling Eyes

And the sheer chutzpah of concluding that "and you see, with those kind of socialised medicine programs, how high the costs will rise!"

When the whole point of these questions is that the costs of the US health care system are much *higher* than in other countries - - double as high than those in Canada - with its much more socialised-like system..

Facts will not get in the way of Giuliani's dogmatic defence of unfettered free market ideology - just so youre warned.

Jeez, if Tommy Thompson screams any louder, Im gonna keep my headphones at a distance from my ears.

Tommy Thomson did his homework, at least...

Aside; if Romney wasn't a mormon; he'd be the one to watch.

Man, you're sure right about Giuliani taking a strong hawk position. You hear all that "our challenge is sharing all our freedoms with the world" stuff? Scary.

You have it??

I thought it was for paid subscribers? You paying?

Huckabee, "Im getting all the moral questions.. well, better than the immoral questions" Smile

And I'm sure he's perfectly happy with that - he gets to stand as the representative of religious/moral conscience - and he doesnt do badly at all! I like the point about needing to pay more attention to children once theyre born, instead of only focusing on the unborn.

Though just now he screeched out of the curve - "Islamic Jihadists straps bombs to their backs to cause death - we are not like that - the unique strength of America is that we celebrate life -"(I'm paraphrasing, obviously) - WTF? Its uniquely American to not be suicidal killers like the Jihadists?

Did Ron Paul just say that Iran has never posed a security threat to the US? Thats.. bold..

----------

Brownback: "I'm pro-life and I'm whole-life" -- what is that? Whole-life?

Brownback, taking an indirect shot at Giuliani "Its a party of principles, not a party of personalities". Good one!

Paul's answer was pretty good to the moral issue: our wont to launch pre-emptive wars.

Whew, McCain sure laid it on thick with the tearjerking testimonial about "Hispanics who have served their Cuntry (the US)".

Tancredo is just *crazy*.

"Language is the glue that holds a country together" - err, what about values, principles, ideals? - and then, shouting: "BILINGUAL NATIONS DO NOT WORK".

What??

Bilingual, hell, tri- or even quatro-lingual - Canada? Switzerland, anyone?

----------

McCain praises the sacrifice of Hispanics, even Hispanic non-citizens, in Vietnam, Iraq. Brave and praiseworthy - and he gets a big cheer.

Its the Bash Bush round.

McCain: "Weve presided over the biggest spending increase since the Great Society" - that was Lyndon Johnson, in the sixties - take that, George W Bush! You were worse than Clinton and Carter!

Romney says a big, new vision on the future is the key - but doesnt offer one.

Tancredo: "Bush has governed like a liberal". Shocked How far out are we talking?

Rudy hit big with the Lincoln on what it is to be an American. Him and McCain did very well. Tancredo will dominate the KKK vote.

When Tancredo said (paraphrasing) "I welcome LEGAL immigrants ............... but America will only be a great nation again, when I can pick up a phone I don't have to press '1' for English and '2' for Spanish".

Crazy.
