Bush's Approval rating at 34% and Cheney at 18%...NBC poll

Ah, the shadenfraude! His misadministration deserves lower rating than this. I predicted, along with my friend Mamajuana (now deceased) that this would come about if he went into Iraq after Afghanistan. Fear mongering can only cow the people for so long now that we have the Internet.

Wow.

Of course, it only means anything if Dems can capitalize on it.

But, wow.

No, it means something whether the spineless Dems capitalize or not. It means that our country is being led by an administration that does not have the will of the people. It means that it's a sad time in our country.

That's certainly true.

I'm talking about movement AWAY from this sad time, though. Movement towards something better.

Yes, MM, but it does mean something. Something that you may not reali1ze but a lot of republicans are right now. When you run your administration totally from the political wing and no policy it comes around and bites you in the butt. Bush will have no coat tails and they know it.

Of course, MM is right at least that it means nothing in 2008 if the Repubs are smart enough to go for, say, McCain or Giuliani and the Dems are dumb enough to go for, say, Hillary.

But it'll mean something this year, if there are indeed no presidential coattails to ride on for individual Repub candidates - if, in fact, they'll have to go out of their way to distance themselves from the WH.

If that polite distancing-oneself starts being necessitated, that in turn will also have an impact on the administration's ability to get more of its odious plans and proposals through Congress.

So yeah, it means something... <smiles>

God help the Republicans if they lose either house. It will be orange jump-suit fitting time.

MM is not right, 2008 is too far off to count on anything.
