Egads, region! Yes, to the play!
isn't there a photo of you wearing it laying around here somewhere?
somewhere. Unless I deleted it from my host site.
MMmm, I ain't no dummy. That thing would be popping up at inconvenient times if I hadn't.
Some things are worth saving when you see them.
hear hear.
i could probably dig it up....but you know. i want to continue living here.
Sick as a dawg...Shivering with chills, surviving only thanks to cold medicine.
Wondering how on earth will i live through a four hour choreography rehearsal tonight. ughhhhghhh.
but am happy that i bought shoes, the tube top, and shower hat for the play over this weekend. i'm such a good crew member, if the major Dork of the company.
Awww Dag, hope you're feeling better soon!!
yeh, me too. No time to be sick, really.
Well younno, sometimes the sickness is to force you to make some time ...
but I hope your body will take pity on you this time and let you get on your way!
in a week i can start being sick. not now. i am flying to Ljubljana this Saturday for a conference (next Monday and Tuesday). I have to present an opening paper, which will also be an opening chapter in a book-to-be on nationalism and communism in 1950s. Trying to write it now... ugh, it's horrid. Oh well, hopefully they'll let me edit later when I feel human again.
Oh crap. I'm so sorry Dag!
nah. 's ok.
all was better when i was put in the opening dance among the six main dancers up front on the stage and was assured that i will star in that cabaret song as the spotlight dancer - i'll have my own backup dancers, but i'm the ginger rogers of that one! wheee!
I think I'm getting the hang of it. After a few rehearsals, I am no longer nervous whenever I approach the Machine theater. It is work. And fun. Lots of challenges, lots of 'oh my god, i can't believe i'm doing this...on stage!', but most of all, loads of fun.
Ryan is a hard worker and a pro. One thing I learned is to come on time (those who know me know that this seems almost impossible for me). We work from minute one till the end, with a few five minute breaks. Dance choreographer is a riot, she matches the music with numbers that highlight every little joke and the result is a hoot.
In the opening dance we'll sort of blow in with the desert wind into the set - a desert with a huge sphinx puppet with googly eyes and moving mouth. I'm in the first line of dancers. Song is very much like the first song in the Alladin - Arabian nights. Very "Egyptian" and sexy. We have spent three hours just rehearsing that one song yesterday, but it's sure worth it. It has some cheerleading elements in it, as well as some 80s disco moves.
too bad i will miss the rehearsal next saturday, which means i might not make it into the DIVORCE dance number, but oh well. I will have my spotlight in the cabaret song. Eh, must get back to work now.
Sounds as though Dag is more Diva than Dork.
hey, come to think of it, not a bad nickname.

I like that, noddy. Door to an underground chamber...nice.
