Pretty bad, huh, Tico? I can and will do worse.
SF, you are goin' down!
'Course, that's not necessarily ... um ...

For real, fbaezer? How does your strategy change from head to head to rotisserie?
ok. I'll share my experience.
On rotisserie you need and all in all good team, with some depth.
On head-to-head, you focus on a great batting team, get only a couple of good starters and relievers, and then get several other starters (preferably from the same team), so at least two of your pitchers get a start on the same week. It gives you an edge on wins and Ks (and innings pitched, CG and SHO).
With this league settings, though, it may hurt you in losses, BB, earned runs and HR allowed. So it really is a tossed coin. I've made my changes and will see how it works.
Plus, that gives you a convenient excuse for when you lose to the Ticomaniacs. After all, you drafted for a rotisserie league ....
In due time we'll see sho says "Hasta la vista, baby!"
.
Yep, we sure will .... tough guy.

(Complete Game and Shut Out)
Yeah... I added a bunch of extra categories to try to offset focusing on just a few aspects. There are a lot of guys that hit home runs but strike out a ton. Lots of pitchers that lose games due to low run support but pitch a heck of a game. I was hoping this would force people to try for a more rounded out team.
Yep, the Fiery Tamales may get a lot of homers with CantĂș, but will get very few walks (said the fox who didn't reach the grapes).
(Darn Rednecks, they'll get all those Giambi walks)
So, we can set the rosters for Sunday and Monday? How far in advance?
As far as I know, you could set your rosters for every day of the season. I went all the way to May 3rd before I quit trying (I didn't actually set the roster... just checked to see if I could). The only problem you would face would be knowing which pitchers started which games.
All you have to do is go to "My Team" set your roster, save changes, then click on the date for the next day and repeat the process. The dates are near the top under "Trade Notes" but over the Stats.
By the way, the default roster is always the roster for the day before. So if you set your roster for Sunday and didn't set it for the rest of the season it would always be the lineup that you set for that first Sunday. It always stays at that roster until you change it again. Then that becomes your default roster... if that makes sense.
Makes perfect sense, thanks!
So let's say I make a lineup for Sunday, and then I decide to change it Wednesday... on Thursday, do I get the Sunday or the Wednesday roster?
I understood Sunday, am I right? am I left?
You are left... you would get the roster from Wednesday.
It is always the last roster that you set. In other words, your roster will never change, unless you change it yourself.
When players move defensive positions (e.g., Lopez -- the top draft pick -- is now a First Baseman; Soriano is now an outfielder), does that have any effect on our league? Obviously we play whatever Yahoo has them playing, right? So Lopez is a catcher for the RR, even though he will be playing first base for the Orioles?
Usually they become eligible to play both positions which is a huge benefit to owning that player. My guess is that you will be able to play Soriano in the outfield or 2nd base even if he doesn't play any 2nd base. Lopez will probably be able to be started at both catcher and 1st. If you have Soriano started at second base but he plays the outfield that day, you will get his stats for that day at your second base position even though he played in the OF.
It makes your lineup very flexible and adds depth to those positions.
It's starting to come together for me, but I still have some questions:
1. How does the "Utility" position factor in? Are those players' stats used in a head-to-head matchup?
2. How many pitchers on the roster are used? 2 SP and 2 RP?
1.) The Utility Player option gives you the ability to play one extra position player per day (ie. any position but a pitcher). This helps offset any days where a regular player doesn't play that particular day or any surprise injuries that may occur. You get points every day your utility player is active. It is kind of like a bonus player.
2.) You can start 2 starting pitchers, 2 relief pitchers and 3 in the (just plain)pitcher position. The (just plain)pitcher position can be filled by either a starter or a reliever. It is usually a good idea to have a nice balance of both starters and relievers since there are stats such as wins/loses that normally go to starters while saves usually go to relievers. Starters also usually have more innings pitched and strike outs (due to facing more batters) but also have more loses and higher ERA. So a balance is good.
