Thanks, fbaezer.
My Norsemen are too fast for me.
Four days of competition.
Provisional results, revised:
1. husker 93 points
2. fbaezer 92
3. jpinMilwaukee 85
4. ossobuco 77
5. George 59
6. jespah 39
The Russians are in full fear and doing better than expected. American and Norwegian women are below the projections... and Croatia & Sweden are finally on the board
.
I know some A2K Croatian who is in Turin right now and must be happy. today.
MyOwnUsername.
He's a sports journalist in Karlovac.
A few weeks ago he was boasting about been sent to cover the games for his paper.
Five days of competition.
Provisional results, revised:
1. husker 108 points
2. fbaezer 106
3. George 95
4. ossobuco 94
5. jpinMilwaukee 94
6. jespah 54
Great comeback by George, guided not by his German women, but by his good Group C picks.
jp was hurt today for not choosing Austria.
Woo-hoo!
Back in this thing.
My frauleins must kick it up a notch.
Their biathlon results were disappointing.
I have high hopes today for the team pusuit speed skating.
May get a skeleton medal, too.
Six days of competition.
Provisional results, revised:
1. husker 134 points
2. fbaezer 127
3. ossobuco 123
4. jpinMilwaukee 119
5. George 118
6. jespah 83
It was a good day for husker, osso & jespah; a bad one for George & me. Osso and myself got to thank Kristina Smigun for another 5 unexpected points.
It now looks like one of those races in which the pursuing group changes places very often, hoping that the leader will falter. Jespah threatens to come from behind, but needs a very strong Canadian and US women showing to do it (and perhaps an unheard of Irish medal).
So far, this would be the perfect combination:
Group A:
Russia
US Men
Norway Men or Germany Men
Group B:
Austria
Sweden
China
Group C:
Estonia
Australia
Czech Republic
Bulgaria
(or Slovakia & Great Britain instead of the latter two)
-------
The perfect combination gives 156 points.
Husker is playing at 86% of perfection.

Go Ireland! I will enjoy a potato dish in your honor.
PS Thanks for the updates and keeping score.
darn my teams seem pretty cool
Seven days of competition.
Provisional results, revised:

2. ossobuco 134

4. jpinMilwaukee 128

My personal comment: Blessed Estonians! Damn Swiss!
(Hey but it was a good lesson for the boastful American brat to lose her gold medal!)
One step forward... two steps back seems to be my pattern so far.
I am late, so I don't expect to be counted. But I cannot resist but to pitch in my two cents:
Group A
Russia, Canada, USA Men
Group B
Switzerland, Austria, Sweden
Group C
Australia, Great Britain, Czech Republic, Estonia
Don't count me in. I just want to put this down for the record.

Hi Douglas.
Eight days of competition. We're half way there.
Provisional results, revised:
1. husker 180 points
2. fbaezer 169
3. ossobuco 165
4. George 165

Husker's lead starts to be sizeable.
The pursuing group is still a pack (osso is in third because she has 16 points in Group C, against George's 14 points).
Jespah needs a miracle.
ossobuco wrote:I forgot the tenth, beg pardon, so I'll grab Estonia for group C, as a sentimental favorite.
Sentiment served her well!
