Bartikus:
My teachers?
Angel:
Sure, why not, we do it with our various animals all the time, and some one might be doing and expiriment on God, and somemight be doing and expirience on God's God. Frightening.
Bartikus wrote:young_thinker wrote:But I can, my dear Bartikus! I don't know what your job is, but I as a student, have a comparison for you.
For example, if I create a project for school that all my grades depend on, which my life depends on for whatever reason, once I'm finished with my project, which is my creation, I don't care about it that much anymore.
"God" might see the earth as simply a project, a job, not his child.
The project that you receive from school....who would assign it to you or ask you to do it?
Who could assign God a project or job to do for a grade? lol
I'll tell you who thinks they can........mankind!
Yea, I'd like to think of myself as more than an errupting volcanoe.
God has no teachers....but he does have many creations who think they can teach him a thing or two.

That mouse looks like he is gonna erupt! lol
I would like to think of myself as more of an erupting volcanoe too. If anyone's seen Men In Black 2, the guy pokes his finger in the miniture planet and its like apocolypse, so it might be the same for us. I can hear Kansas' Dust In the Wind playing in the back of my head right now. Sigh.

You are wise and privy to the band Kansas!
Son...is that you? lol

I gotta take a quick bathroom break!
Prove fairies don't exist.
Can't can you?
How 'bout elves? No? bigfoot? the loch ness monster? No?
Impossible, thus this is useless reasoning, as no information can possibly gained by it.
You can't prove a negative(without a qualifier)
You can prove the existence of fairies, however. Simply produce a fairy.
This is how we learn and grow. To even suggest that someone should have to prove a negative shows a complete deficiency in critical thinking skills.
With that said, we are left with this; What reason is their to believe there 'is' a god?
Again, I suppose those reasons(or lack of them) would depend on the individual. I personally have seen no evidence of a deity.
But then I suppose it depends on ones standard of evidence.
For some, the mere existence of the world constitutes evidence. This would indicate an extremely low standard of evidence.
Personally I would say ones standard of evidence is directly proportionate to ones critical thinking skills.
young_thinker wrote:Huh? Thing about Kansas.
Just you knowing the works of Kansas seems impressive to me. You are 14?

Which is why you don't believe in him.
For those of us who know him, have experienced him.
The 2 go hand in hand.

he'll do that to ya.
Yes, I'm seriously 14. A bit o' background: I live in a part of northern California and I attend a public school. Everyday I watch as the world zooms by in a blur of uniformity and conformity. I ponder the ways of the universe while walking to and from the bus stop. I consider most people to be dullards who can do any critical thinking. I like Aldous Huxley, Simon and Garfunkel, and Age of Empires 3. I have a really cute puppy too.
Is it any different that believing or not believing that young_thinker is really 14?
