"...a functional constitutional democracy..." is not going to happen in Iraq. Don't you ever read the news? There have been tribal problems in Iraq for centuries, and that's not going to disappear with a central government in Baghdad.
Do you understand why the Kurds up north do not accept other tribes into their military to protect the north? Do you understand anything about the influence of Iran in Southern Iraq? Do you know anything about the makeup of the insurgency? Do you know anything about the open borders of Iraq? Do you know anything about the influence of Islam on democracy?
You understand nothing, and spout ignorance!

Assuming that we could even do that, (which as CI pointed out, we can't) would you sacrifice your only son and daughter for that cause?
Roxxxanne, As we already know that the total makeup of this administration are "chicken-hawks." None of them served when we were at war, but they have been willing to sacrifice everybody else's parents, sons and daughters to a unjustified war with no end in sight.
Didn't Rumsfeld serve? But that is not the point. The vast majority did not.
Did Rumsfeld serve during war? How many combat vets are in this admin. Any?

Cicerone Imposter's statement was "None of them served..." If this is true, I'd like to see the evidence. If it's not true, then perhaps a retraction of the statement?
OK who served in war?
Roxxxanne,
I will have to do some searching to find it but I am almost positive Cicerone Imposter has told more than one poster that if they make an assertion then it is up to them to back it up. Now, if I haven't seen it from him, I have seen it from many others. And, if he has not posted that, then I will definitely apologize.
He made the assertion. I am asking that he backs it up.
So, in other words, you are not asserting that ANY member of the Bush Admin served in a war. That is what I thought. Suffice it to say that the vast majority have not.
Furthermore, you have no basis for challenging the assertion. I feel that is intellectually dishonest.
Roxxxanne,
I was not asserting anything. I was rather surprised at Cicerone Imposter's statement that none had served. I was just wanting to know if, in fact, none at all had served.
If someone makes a statement and I ask them to back it up, how is that intellectually dishonest? What? I should first prove them incorrect? Like I said, Cicerone Imposter made the statement if someone makes a general statement they should back it up. I was following his advice.
Talk72000,
Thank you for the clarification.
The main decicion makers didn't serve and being hawkish makes them hypocrites namely, GWB = George Walks Backward from war front, Rumsfeld and Cheney.
The presidents responsibility to defend the nation does not depend on past military experience. It's a BS argument to say otherwise.

ROFLMAO
His incompetence stretches from both wars in the Middle East, his inability to handle a crisis in our own country after Katrina, and he and his party being investigated for criminal activity.
Multi-task! You're kidding, right?
He's multi-tasking as a failure.

If I had a child, I don't think I would oppose his decision to serve in a war to help another country achieve something important, like freedom.
We must be fighting for someone's freedom because we can't give our freedom away fast enough all in the name of freedom.
