Yeah, right.

Would you kill for god too? And when you say God, do you mean the one from the old testament? You know, the prick who decided to have Abraham think he had to kill his own son just to show how much faith he had? And don't you agree that that god was pretty much a giant a-hole?

kickycan,

C'mon, can't you just let someone have their love for God? You don't have to agree with it. No one is asking you to.

Why do you want to tear down something good in someone else's life?

Because blind faith is the greatest disease on this planet. I can't wait until we evolve as a race past this idiocy, and I consider anything I might do to further that process a step towards a better future world.

kickycan,

But that is your feeling about it. It is not mine and it is obviously not Wanda's.

Kickycan, you and others don't want us to force our religion on you. Why do you want to force your non-religion on us? Is that right? Aren't you doing what you are accusing Christianity of doing?

It's bigger than just religion. It's blind faith. And everyday when I see that moron George Bush in his oval office trying to look like he's got a goddam brain in his head while people in Iraq die for his war of choice (and faith, I'm sure), I think, those f*cking blind sheep are the ones who let this a-hole into the highest office in the land. Their stupid blind faith has allowed this to happen.

And you don't think that religion is forced on me? Are you kidding?

I didn't say it wasn't, Kickycan. I just said aren't you doing the same thing.

I understand how you feel about George Bush. But, I am not George Bush. Wanda is not George Bush.

And what are you going to do, get ticked at everyone who voted for George Bush? If it makes you feel any better, I didn't vote for him.

Now, you still got a problem with me?

George Bush & his posse have done more harm to the reputation of Christianity than any American I can think of in recent history.

I used to believe they go their way, I go mine, but like many people in this country I feel I am having a belief system rammed down my throat. Now with a new Supreme Court on the horizon, I think it is only going to be worse for the next generation.

Green Witch,

I understand how you feel. I really do. What I don't understand is it seems just because someone is a Christian, they seem to be taking the flack for how everyone feels about the President.

I DIDN'T EVEN VOTE IN THE ELECTION! I had nothing to do with him being elected. There are Christians out here that don't think the same way other Christians do. WE ARE NOT ALL THE SAME.

(Caps are for emphasis only.)

What is being forced on you?. Wanda has been shoveling load after load. Kicky was just responding to the mounting pile.

I have a problem with blind faith, and you have a bad case of it. I would turn the other cheek, and most of the time I do, but when I see a bunch of new threads filled with this moronic drivel, as there has been lately, I, being as much a part of this online community as you are, have as much right as anyone to voice my opinion on it. Or don't you think I do?

Do you honestly not see the connection between the Christian right being blindly led by the nose to the voting booths, and this completely inept, incompetent turd getting in office? You seriously don't see how these two things are connected?

Holy ****, it is maddening talking to people with this cult mentality.

MA- Unfortunately, groups of people are held responsible for the actions of a few. If you were a Muslim you would not be able to walk through an airport without all the silent alarms being triggered. Christians are getting the backlash from the Bush agenda. Intellectually we know all Christians are not the same, or Muslims, or Jews etc. If you are feeling hostile vibes from some of the public it is because you represent the problem, even if you are not necessarily the problem.

And shame on you for not voting.

What Wanda is doing is the same thing you and everyone else is doing.

You think is it shoveling. I think it is just her way of saying she loves God.http://web4.ehost-services.com/el2ton1/heart.gif She has that right. This is the Spirituality & Religion Forum, isn't it? I would kind of think one might find that kind of thing here Idea

Tell you what? You get them to start a Non-Religion Forum and I promise you I won't enter it and say a single thing against what you do or don't believe.http://www.smileys.ws/smls/action/00000033.gif

If Kickycan and you and anyone else can speak their mind of how you feel then I think it is perfectly within my right and anyone else's right to make comments on what they say also.

I mean, isn't it in the constitution or something?http://www.smileys.ws/smls/action/00000054.gif

Green Witch,

I was in the hospital at the time and couldn't vote.

I understand what you are saying. I just have been told so many times that atheists, etc., should not be lumped into the same group, etc. I just think we could all take the same advice.

I don't know how many times I have to tell people I AM NOT A CHRISTIANITY AT ALL COSTS CHRISTIAN. (Caps meant for emphasis ~ Ok, I was yelling....a little bit.)http://www.smileys.ws/smls/angry/00000036.gif

The most maddening thing about this whole thing is that no matter what you say, you can't get through the thick armor of willful ignorance that the blind faithful have erected around themselves. So you can't even have a rational discussion. No matter what you say, they always come back with this copout of "I just believe it."

BLIND FAITHFUL: "I believe that an invisible man in the sky is going to come down to earth and take all the good people like me up to the magic world in the sky because some book that was written thousands of years ago tells me it's true."

RATIONAL HUMAN BEING: "But you do realize that the book you are talking about is filled with stories and ideas stolen from other, older pagan religions, and is really just a bunch of horseshit, don't you? It's been proven. You can read about it all right hereif you want. And that's just the tip of the iceberg."

BLIND FAITHFUL: "I don't care what that says. I believe in the invisible man of MY bible."

It's maddening, I tell ya.

mesquite,

I did not mean to start a fight, even tho it happens alot where so many differences come together...it's just that all I've been reading about God and making fun of Jesus, etc....it's VERY hard to refrain, so please understand that when you love someone very deeply, what all I said was actually me restrainig myself.

Wouldn't you stand up for what you believe in? This is the only thread I've gotten upset in, you have no idea how hard that is when soooo much else is being said.

But it's gonna be ok, cause Jesus loves you anyway.

Smile
ok?

Wanda

I can understand that, kickycan. I really can. But, I don't put my faith in man. You seem to. So, who is right and who is wrong? That's why faith is a personal thing. We just discuss it here. But, it's a personal thing between you and God (general and not literal on the you).

I don't require the proof you seem to require. I have faith that it is true. If you don't, then you don't. That doesn't make you anything but having a different view than I do. It doesn't make you an idiot because you don't believe and it doesn't make me an idiot because I do believe. It just makes us different.

Since you are possessed of such erudition, perhaps you should educate us about all the bible myths and inconsistencies - one at a time, please, my brain is small.

Then I can show you one at a time that you have posted straw men.
