It's okay sweetie Setanta, the story's out. Timber has outed us! So, just for you. I will leave out the hearts. Will kisses be ok?
This is one of the many occasions upon which it is delightful to contemplate that we are only in contact via distant, agitated electrons . . . kiss whatever you like as often as you please, it will do me no injury . . .
You are such a sweet talker.
Hey, Set is better looking than I thought he would be.
Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder.
I ain't be holdin anything
Beauty is only skin deep, but.....
ugly goes clear through to the bone
Well, wonder if we can get this thread started again?
I would like to thank everyone for their honest answers to my questions. It has helped me greatly understand some of you better.
duke it out, again? OK let me get the gloves laced up.
Just let me know when you're ready!
Well this is my honest view. I dont like organised religion. They start by exploiting mans curiosity and end up exploiting man.
I have no better ideas about divinity than anyone else, but no worse either. I just keep mine private.
Its always best to avoid giving unnecessary offense, but sometimes its better to speak truthfully.
Religions are nothing but a system of beliefs or ideas. I believe some ideas are better than others, or alternatively some ideas are bad. Therefore not all religions deserve equal respect. How does one define a religion? Is cannibalism a relgion? Is eating people a good idea?
The central tenet of Christianity, which I take to be "love one another" gives it pretty good marks in the religious ranking order imo. But that does not afford it a claim for truth. And the opposite applies. A religion such as Islam which claims perfect truth ranks lowly in the order imo.

Well Steve, over here on this side of the pond that central tenant is not so evident among vocal Christians.

Perhaps you're right. We dont have the vocal Christians here like you have o over there. The major criticism of the Church of England has been that it is so accommodating that it appears to stand for nothing at all. Thats a strength not a weakness imo. But I forget what it must be like to have the bigots blasting away every day...perhaps that explains the pretty virulent attacks on self confessed American christians (on this forum) from the liberal/left.
Hi Momma Angel,
Good idea you have here.
It's a shame so many non-true Christians give us true Christians a bad name. I can see why the non believers have a hard time with it sometimes. They aren't being shown the love, but only the hate.
Wanda
Hi Wanda,
Yes, you are so right. Unfortunately, there are some that do give Christianity a bad name. Also, it seems it doesn't matter how good a Christian you are to some, it still will not be accepted.
Welcome to A2K! I hope all goes well for you!
I agree. Thanks so much for the warm welcome.
