2-2 and penalty kicks.

BTW, Mexico was a Football World Cup finalist in Germany 06, according to a report by the news agencies.
We lost against Portugal.
The X-Box version of the tournament.

This means that the German joke: "What do the Dutch do after they win the World Cup? -They turn off the X-box" is misguided.
They can't win even in video games.

YAY! Mexico v Australia - how it should have ended up!

<ahem>

If Portugal wins the WC, that just means that Holland could have been no.2...

(Still no reason to want Portugal to win anything, tho)

Woohoo!!! 90 minutes that left me wondering of football had lost its title of "the beautiful game". Fortunately the italians finally decided to put the catenaccio on pause and showed us some magic.

Tuto bene Azurri!

Interesting to see that we're not the only ones talking about Italian diving ability.

Funny they haven't done better in Olympic diving??? Twisted Evil Heaps of practice!

To my great surprise, my mother (nearly 87, usually in bed at 9 pm) told me today that she watch the match until the very end (nearly 12pm). And my aunt (84) added, that the second goal was one too much.

No Laughing

But since they get now more than three programs [we don't have analogue tv anymore], they are pleased to watch various channels .... and mother always liked to watch football .... on tv.

Do you think if your mother and aunt and my mother in law got together, they could explain how the game is played to Sven Goran Ericksson?

Most certainly.

I've heard, he might become manager of Harlow Town? Or was it Norwich County?

Whatever.

Something else: the German co-captain of the German-sponsored cylist team 'Milram' (a German dairy), Erich Zable, as well as all other drivers (four more Germans) of that Tour-de-France team with an Italian license ... have to wear an Italy tattoo today ...

What the F is wrong with the chinese! Of the 50 deaths related to the WC in the world, 11 have been of chinese. The last one, a woman that jumped from a 17th floor because his bf wanted to watch the games live, in the early morning.

Another guy broke his foot while striking a wall, thinking he was Francesco Totti scoring a goal.

Cases of face paralysis have incremented in 20%, a consequence of nervous chinese watching games instead of sleeping. A husband locked her wife in a room because she wouldn't allow him to watch games, and students in a university rioted because electricity was cut after midnight and they couldn't watch TV.

Crazy bunch. And I thought japs where weird.

walter :
when my mother was in her eighties , she became a football fanatic .
when we visited with her in germany and take her out for the day , she'd try to make sure that we had our meal in a restaurant that would show whatever game was on on television !
and she'd loudly cheer .
was i ever surprised !

Ok so, I would like for Portugal to beat France, but in that case Italy would win the WC. So I guess it would be bettet for France to win... but Zidane has a yellow card pending... sheesh.

PK for France? Boo.

I wasn't able to see the game - unfortunately!
So France and Italy will go to the finals and Germany will play Portugal
for the third place.

I think that will be rather nice, seeing an all European crowd.
