It looks like we've got a good little player coming to Arsenal next season!

Does he play like this all the time, Walter?

Poor old Koller. He'll be out of the tournament now, by the look of it.

I still stick by my 3 - 1 as a final result, I'm afraid.

Although I'm not a Dortmund fan at all (Mrs. Walter, I'm with those excellent kickers who usually .... loose in that stadium now being played in) - yes, he is!

Good for Arsenal, imdeed - and he knows [traitor(: went from Schalke to Dortmund!)] Lehmann from the times together in Dortmund.

I snuck out to lunch and caught the rest of the first half, some of the first. US looks slow to me and Czech Rep. has no reason to speed the game up any. I'm wondering if they're going to put the boy wonder in -- it certainly can't hurt.

I believe that this is the first "one team on the field" match so far in the World Cup. Overwhelming.

Well, that was a weak effort. No distribution out of the back. Nothing coming forward out of the midfield. And did the US win a single 50/50 ball? Pathetic.

Arena needs to shake up the roster for Italy, I think.

Win a ball? They didn't even challenge. I caught players walking in the midfield while the ball was in play. There is no excuse for that at this level. After seeing the games over the weekend this one looked like a college match. An American college match. I've seen MLS games that looked better.

Well as they say 3:0 and US were lucky to get nil.

Men against boys I'm afraid. still confirms my hot tip as Czech republic to lift the trophy. (and you could have bought at 33/1).

Must admit I was disappointed with USA performance. They can do better than that. Question is will they now get the opportunity?

Italy v. Ghana starts in about twenty minutes.

Ghana play very much in the style of the Brazilians (if only they had their talent).......they should prove to be entertaining.
Watch out for Appiah and Gyan.

Italy are just Italy. Strong defence and flair up front. I have a feeling that Luca Toni (striker) will do well in this tournament.

Prediction.......

Italy 3 - 0 Ghana.

I can't see Ghana breaking through Italy's defence.

I haven't seen Ghana play so I have no idea what to expect, but it can't be as bad as the last one. The African teams tend to play fast, hard, and physical, so it should at least be more interesting than the pinball game that just finished.

Ghana has produced some of Africa's most talented footballers these last years, players like Osei Koffi, Abdulrazak Karim, Ben Acheampong, Afriye and George Al Hassan.

"With one exception, the big leagues of Europe have wrapped up their championship tables nice and early so that players can concentrate on the World Cup. The exception, as usual, is Italy." International Herald Tribune, May 10.

We'll see in 9 mins ...
