Alright, that sounds good - as long as I can eat it that's just fine with me if you catch it!

BTW, it is snowing in Balingen...

Rae, how could I do that???? I just thought you'd be interested to know... ;-)

Around here, I am not allowed to tell about my visit to Spain...

-30 C, Beth???? Why do you live there????

Why?
Because I love the seasons!
Really.

I'd die if I had to live someplace that was moderate all the time. I like that it can be -20 to -40 C in the winter - and it will go to 30 to 40 C in August and September. There are moments that 40 or -40 is too much - but this isn't a place for the weak. I think the sheer beauty of the landscape and the colour of the sky makes it all worthwhile.

That is a very good reason, Beth. But I guess that makes me a weak one :-)

Have to admit that Mom and I are already discussing a menu for the gathering within the gathering at our house. My delicious homemade lasagna is at the top of the list right now.

I promise you Ursula ~ the seasoning I used for the fish is no longer in the house ~ had Daniel been a bit more forthcoming with preparation, I would not have been responsible for burning your throat and lungs!

We'll be going for tasty, but mild flavours this time 'round!

Mapleleaf ~ sorry, couldn't tell you a thing about any A2K calendar.

My only contribution tonight is to let everyone know that I will also have home-made egg rolls for appetizers.....egg rolls to die for!

ehBeth, You might want to try Priceline for airfares.
Try this link after you have some idea what the going (cheapest) rate is, then bid a percentage of that. If the regular coach fare is $500, bid $250 ore less. You have nothing to lose.

The system I use to get low airfares;
First: check Travelocity.com with an open date search...
Second: Go to the Homepage of each of the Airlines presented to see if their fares are higher of lower. I've purchased Delta and ATA flights for $100s less at travelocity sometimes, and sometimes its cheaper to at the Airline homepages. An hour spent comparing can save you a ton of cash. Good Luck!
