@Frank Apisa,
I DO get it Frank...Saying I think, I think I know, or I believe, is the same exact thing...It is cool Frank...I don't need to hear you try to explain how it is not...And you don't seem to get what I am saying either...I NEVER said I KNOW with certainty...I said I THINK I KNOW....

YES...but if we have established that it is impossible for you to KNOW...to say you think you know is illogical.

Open your mind...you can finally get this.

@Frank Apisa,
I already got it...

I do not think that someone saying I think I know is implying they think they know something for certain...You think that it does...

When I hear someone say that...I think they are acknowledging that they are certain that they are thinking something...Not that they think they are certain...about something...You think it means that...

Who do you think will win the NFL East?

@Frank Apisa,
Not your Giants mate...I think both Dallas, and Washington win this week, and block Giants out...I would have to say Washington right now...

That is not any different that saying I think I know the Giants will be blocked out...2 Cents

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
Hate to say I think you are correct, but that scenario seems more likely than the one I want to see.

Both of the recent Super Bowl wins for the Giants, however, have come after they got into the playoffs as a wild-card. And both wild-card entries were nail biters.

So we will see.

In any case, I loathe both the Boys and the Deadskins...so obviously I am hoping they both lose.

Also...if the Giants win both of their remaining games...they go to the playoffs regardless of what the Boys and Deadskins do. In fact, the Giants can lose one game and still make it if certain things happen.

Like I said...we will see.

Am I justified in being certain Frank?

Or are you going to say that whatever answer you give I can't be certain is correct?

@Frank Apisa,
Mate...everyone is my immediate family are Cowboy fans...I am a Jets fan...But I thought they had no chance...from the start...

I think it will be San Fran, and Texans anyways...

But it could be San Fran, and New England, or Denver...

@Frank Apisa,
What is the scenerio for Giants to get in without division? With winning all games? You do not have to break down with 2 wins, and needing help....

Am I justified in being certain Frank?

You are the one who has to answer that, Spendius. And if you answer it truthfully (unless there is a GOD, and you are IT) you gotta answer it NO.

If they win their final two games...they are in the playoffs.

Remember the final game for the Boys play the Deadskins.

So you are saying Giants make the wildcard...Because one will win, and one will lose between the Skins? And Cowboys? Got it...Thanks...

SPADE...I am interested in what you think about what Spendius just said. Do you think Spendius KNOWS WITH CERTAINTY that I am not doing what I suggested I might be doing?

Everyone thinks they know things with certainty mate....And I think you do too mate ....

If you say you think you do not know things with certainty...Then you could also say you know with certainty that no one knows anything with certainty...Which is the same thing as saying people think they know things with certainty...And if you say you do not know whether people know things with certainty...Then that means you think they could...

Does it mean that anyone actually does? If we all think we do...There is no reason to believe we do not...

Are we all wrong about being certain? If we are then we will all be certain we were uncertain, which points to an afterlife...

Can we be uncertain about being certain? No, cause if we say that we are uncertain if we are certain...Then it is the same exact thing as saying we are certain we are uncertain...etc...

This is why I say that everyone has beliefs, whether they are theists, agnostics, or atheists...

When you read this mate...Please answer my question in the thread I created...I wanted to hear your views about my post...Thanks mate...

@XXSpadeMasterXX,
At no point have I suggested that I do not know things with certainty. I have pointed out things that I do not know with certainty...and those things, I simply do not know with certainty. Occasionally I guess or estimate about those things...but when discussing my guesses or estimates...I always label them guesses or estimates.

Nonsense! But I am of the opinion (I guess) you will never open your mind enough to realize that it is nonsense.

Doesn't make you a bad guy.

In any case, what do you think about Spendius being absolutely certain about what we were discussing. You never did answer that.

I think that Ryan is correct to some degree, I think that some times we think are understandings are absolute. I do think that some things we say are certain even though we may be wrong at times.

This is probably true.

There are some things we can know with certainty but we can not know all things with certainty.

Not all the time but often.

How can you be certain of this? This seems like something you might hear on top of bullshit mountain. Humble yourself and come down to the bottom of bullshit mountain and join the least among us.

I think that we should start a thread about reality because I think Ryan finds little interest in it even though he may participate in the thread. I think we could all learn from it.

Not really sure what you mean by this, RL…but I have no “beliefs.” I makes guesses, I suppose things, I estimate things, I “think” things…but I do not “believe” things. Not sure how to say that any more clearly, but it is the truth.

I do not have to guess. I KNOW which shoe has to go on which foot.
