Well, Vivienne got through her arthroscopic surgery on her right knee okay today.

The doc couldn't find the floating bone chip, but removed lots of shredded cartiledge materal. Hopefully, it will make a big difference.

The leg /knee is stiff, but I think she's getting around remarkably well, all things considered.

She has an elastic bandage around, above, and below the knee which stays on for 2 days.

Keeping our fingers crossed....

Hello H. Hoping you are well.

Yes, cats are fine.

Vivienne's knee op looks like it went okay. She feels comfortable not using her cane. I've still got a wait and see attitude about the future of that though.

Next week, we see again about the hernia surgery. Will say more then.

H and Ebeth! Thanks for checking in.

It's been quite a day for me with our computer. Have been loading the new 2008 Norton Internet Security. I always get frazzled with new software. Mad

hi reyn !
i got persuaded to have WIDOWS VISTA installed on my computer in august and it's never been the same since .
i ran into all kinds of printer problems with the lexmark printer - even though i updated it from the lexmark site !
checking GOOGLE , i find quite a few people are having printer problems after upgrading ! GRRR !
i'm now considering junking the lexmark and replacing it with a VISTA CERTIFIED CANON - sure hope that will work .
the lexmark would simply stop communicating with the computer requiring a complicated restart - sometimes removing and re-installing the driver Evil or Very Mad Exclamation
i'm also considering replacing MCAFEE security with NORTON 360 - it has been given the highest rating by PC MAGAZINE .
would be interested to hear if you are satisfied with NORTON .

BEST TO YOU BOTH AND THE KITTIES !

ps. just came back from visiting an old lady friend who recently lost her husband .
she has always been a petlover and took in GUS , a cat from the humane society .
well , last week gus did not come back from his morning walk !
poor else cried and cried !
i tried to reassure her that cats often come back - and he did - after 5 days !
she cried some more - this time with joy !
gus had gotten a little skinny and smelled of engine grease ; i suspect he paid a visit to the local shipyard that is just at the ottom of the street .
when we visited today a second cat was sitting on her sofa !
"it's gus' friend ; he brought him along and likes it here " , else said .
no surprise , plenty of feed bowls set out , sofas , pillows - wouldn't mind being her cat myself
she also told us that a third cat has made visits to the side-door of her condo - it's on the groundfloor .
i'm waiting for another call informing us that a cat "has gone for a walk" .
"i can't lock them up - they keep crying and demand to be let out " , she said .

AND SO IT GOES !

Hello H. I can't comment on the Norton 360 product. I've always used the Norton Antivirus (stand alone product) and been quite happy with it.

Just recently though, I've switched to the Norton Internet Security software. that's the one with the antivirus, firewall, spyware, etc, in it. Generally, it seems to be okay. It's a bit early to tell yet if all will be fine. I was disappointed that there was no "ad blocking" software bundled in with it, as it was with the NA product I speak of above. It worked great!

I got a good deal with the NIS, as there was a $40 rebate, so that made it just under $20.

Unfortunately, due to all the idiocy that goes on in the internet, we must protect ourselves with all this software that takes up resources within our hard drives. It can only get worse.

In regards to the cats, I'm afraid I'm of the mind that to let one's cat outdoors nowadays is a very bad idea. So much negative stuff can happen. I hope all works out with the lady's pets.

Goodnight from B.C. Very Happy

Well, saw the operating doctor for my wife's abdominal hernia today, and he'll be sending her for a CT scan, to see why a problem has occurred. That's, hopefully, going to happen in the next couple of weeks.

Sounds nice! Your area has been doing very well weather-wise lately, for sure!

Wow, you know it's amazing what pulling a few strings can do for medical appointments! My wife saw her doctor (who did the hernia surgery) yesterday and today our local hospital called and said she was scheduled for her CT scan this coming Thursday! That's pretty darn quick for a test like that!

We're hoping to get some answers as to what's going on with the right side of the repair job.

it always helps to have the doctor on your side . they often know someone who knows someone else
(though our family physician told us that over a weekend this summer , he had to take his daughter to emergency and had to wait for four hours like everyone else !)

sure hope everything works out well !

(no phonecall about "a stolen cat" yet  )

Well, I have to admit there are no piano-playing cats in this household, but they certainly get their singing in! Laughing
