I have a question...Reyn, would you ever sell your life story? How much do you think it's worth?

My life story? I doubt it would be very interesting. I'm sure I've led a very boring life next to other people. Only family may be interested in reading it. I'm sure I couldn't give copies of the book away.

On the other hand, I would be able to tell some quite interesting stories that have happened to me in the course of my work.

I won't tell you about the time someone was found dead by their own hands by hanging themselves in an electrical meter room. Shocked

Or.... never mind....

Oh, I'm sure you're right, but would someone care enough to buy the book to read it?

If pressed, I could come up with some stories.... Very Happy

It doesn't matter who would care enough to buy it. Your stories are worth more than money...I'm feeling very deep and philosophical tonight, please excuse me...

I'm....touched. Laughing

Either way, I don't know I could write a book.

I could tell some stories. That's why this thread exists. So, I can sit down with my A2K buds and chew the fat.

So tell us a story, Reyn. Tell us of the first girl you ever loved...of course, only if you feel comfortable with it...

Reyn, here is Diane, late as always. How nice of you to start a thread on your life. Kicky's right, you know, about every life having value and interest. As for me, I happen to be one of those strange people who loves to look at other people's photos (most of the time).

Interests for me include a2k--a surprisingly close community of strangers, many of whom I love. Politics interest me when I'm feeling masochistic and can't help myself. Animals, camping, beauty in nature, lots of nature related subjects interest me.

I have a feeling that your a2k collage will become something of great value to many of us who have formed some wonderful friendships here on a2k. You are wonderful to take on such a project.

I'll try to come in for coffee once in a while. As you know, I'm not always a regular on a2k even though I care very much for many of the posters.

Hmmm, I think I'd prefer to tell a work story.

This a story that happened about 3 years ago, or so.

A fellow meter reader that I knew from 20 years back transferred to the current office that I work out of now. I always knew he was a bit of a drinker and had personal troubles, etc.

He seemed to get on okay at the new office. About a year goes by. Gossip in the office how he seemed down and spoke of trouble between himself and his girlfriend.

Anyway, one morning, he comes to the office as usual, collects his work, goes to his route (as far as the rest of us knew), and commits suicide by placing a shotgun to his chest. He does this in his work uniform, and in his company car.

One of the fellows remembers seeing him turn off this road to go into a park area under one of our bridges. The last thing he remembers is that he waved back to that reader.

Next thing we hear is the previous sad story. He left notes in the back of the car.

What a waste.... Crying or Very sad

Now that is a hell of a story. Wow. You see, there are so many people, like cells, that bump into us, go on, and some decide not to go on...I'm saddened by that story, and my eyes are wet from the desperate truth that it contains...but it's beautiful...thank you for sharing.

Hey, well thanks so much for saying!
<gives Diane a hug>
I hope for this to do this on an ongoing basis. We'll see if it all works out.

That story affected all of us for some time here. We talked about it amongst us, speculating what pushed him over the edge. I'm sure we'll never know. Probably an accumulation of events, I suspect.

Anyway, that was a bloody sad one. Next time, I'll come up with something more upbeat.

I can't say that I'm much for the ballet, but I used to listen to classical music from time to time. My favourites used to be Bach and Mozart.

These days though, I don't really spend any time listening to music at all, unless I have the radio on. Then, it's classical rock or jazz.

I'm a big fan of "talk radio" and I tune into Bill Good mainly on CKNW, which is our big talk show station here in BC.

How about yourself? What do you like to listen to?

Howdy, Ms. Olga! Glad you found me!

Reyn's is open all hours. It's just that I might not be here. Any subjects are spoken about here, not just stuff about me.

Monday to Friday, I try to be on briefly in the morning before I go to work 8am. I'm back from work after 4pm. Most times I'm here after supper in the evenings. Weekends I'm here sporadically as I have time.

I'm in the Pacific Time Zone.

By the way, did you catch the sad cat story that I posted in "Pets"?

See you around....
