hamburger's looking at buying a digital camera.

he went to one of the smaller independent dealers in my hometown, as part of his comparison-shopping process - they told him they were having a pile of sales reps from different manufacturers coming in on one day later this month - told him it would be a good day to come in, as everyone would be giving deals/add-ons to the newest products.

it'll be interesting to see how that works out.

<I'll have to suggest he pop in here to let you know how it turns out>

Hi Beth! Thanks for dropping by. Please do suggest to him that he passes on his shopping experience with me.

I'm in a bit of a quandry right now, so I won't be buying probably any time real soon. Still doing lots of research.

I'd heartily recommend the Olympus brand, Reyn. I've had a 4.1 megapixel one for about 3 years now. Very user-friendly, which is something I look for. I've used it for magazine photography and gotten excellent resolution. Even blew up some of my shots to 8x10 & larger and framed them. And those were the ones taken indoors in low light.

I found one with a slightly larger lens than normal. It's made a world of difference.

I'll be upgrading equipment in the coming year, and I see no reason not to stick with Olympus.

BTW, I successfully loaded about 100 songs onto my new iPod today and spent all afternoon & evening getting reacquainted with some dear old favorites I haven't been able to hear clearly for over a year. A friend said I was having a musical orgasm. An apt description.

I'll check them out. Just when I thought I had it narrowed down to a Canon..... Shocked Laughing

Glad to see you've figured out your ipod and enjoying the songs!

Good evening, Reyn! Very Happy 9:30 pm EST here in Melbourne, Oz. What time would that make it where you are? It's a pity so many of you are always sleeping as I post. This is quite a different experience to "peak hour" A2K.

As you post this, it is 20 Oct 4:34am here. Soon we will be switching off Daylight Savings Time (Oct 31) and be putting the clock an hour back to Pacific Standard Time. So, it will only get worse.

As I type this, it is now close to 6:30am, and just about breakfast time here.

Ah, I see! I was just curious how close "A2K time" was to most posters.

As I type this, Reyn, it is just after 8:30 am, Friday morning. I'm on my third cup of tea, have just read my morning paper & am listening to local ABC Radio as I type. My cat is having a "sleep-in." Laughing

Good morning! Very Happy

Today I start work around midday. It's been raining cats & dogs overnight & everything is SO GREEN outside it's extraordinary! And soggy! Surprised
Our daylight savings period starts soon & there will be a lot of grumpy, half-asleep folk stumbling into their workplaces for a little bit, as they adjust. Ah, but the glorious long evenings! Wonderful! Roll on summer!

Thanks for comparing notes! And have a good day, Reyn! Very Happy

Unless the west coast is further behind the east coast than I thought, the time changes at 2 AM Sunday, October 30th. :-)

Have a good weekend! Laughing

Sorry, I stand to be corrected.

I'd be just as happy if "they" would keep the time one way or another for the whole year, rather then these idiotic time shifts. Grrrr.... Mad

Yup, you have to change it in your profile each time it changes.
