Just had an email from my cousin. He is sending some photos.

Hey, that's great! Maybe there'll be some family resemblance.

Finally got an iPod! A brand new "nano." I've been trying to decipher the instructions all day. (I'm a closet Luddite.)

I've seen pictures of those. Are they a smaller version of the originals?

Hope you figure it all out and enjoy the music! Very Happy

Yes, the "nano" is smaller... 1.5 in. x 3.5 in. and less than 1/4 in. thick. At 4GB, it holds 1000 songs plus photos, calendar, games, etc. Hard to find...hubby's been calling stores here for two weeks. This is my late birthday present.

Should be a lot of fun if I can get it set up. My brain is fried. I'm not very good at this technical stuff.

Buy one. You'll never pay for film and processing again.

The tough part is picking the right one. There's so many models to chose from. I'm probably going to go with a Canon, maybe the PowerShot model. I would prefer an SLR though. Looking at bigger bucks.

look at the olympus D'ist it's about $740 and comes with 2 lenses. My buddy bought one cause I told it one of the best SLRs for the price with 2 different lenses. The pictures I've seen out of it so far are just wonderful. you can see it here

Well, I'll keep that in mind, but I would be looking at at least $883 in USD. Not sure I want to spend quite that much. Was hoping more like $6-700.

Is there a good time to buy a camera price-wise? Maybe sales on after Boxing Day? Or....?

Hmm, I think I probably wouldn't think of buying something like a camera online, I'm afraid. I would prefer a local merchant, but thanks for the tip.

Any ideas if cameras go on sale in January, etc?

Okay, thanks anyway, Husk.

Also, thanks for that website, trep. That'll come in handy. I already had some sites that gave reviews, but this will be good to compare other models.

Do you have any idea when cameras go on sale? Is post-Boxing Day good?

You usually don't see too many "good" sales on digital cameras, Reyn. Prior to Christmas would most likely not bring any sale prices. Boxing Day? Perhaps. There are many factors to consider and price is just one of them.

Yes, I agree 100%, although, I must factor in price. Otherwise, I'd get the best darn camera on the planet! Laughing

One thing that's important to me is for the camera to be able to take good quality pics in low light and indoors.

I'm planning to take up photograghy as a hobby again, and I also want to be able to use my own material to carry on with my interest in montages.
