@jcboy,
A tropical depression has a strong chance of becoming Hurricane Isaac and threatening Florida!

@jcboy,
If the state of Florida didn't always go barefoot ALL the time, it could possibly kick that ole Tropical depression/potential Hurricane Isaac away from the US coast and across the Atlantic where it belongs.

@jcboy,
76 here. It was peek-a-boo but a burst of heavy storms here from 8:15 to 8:45. Forecasters say it'll pass us at 9:15 am. Sunshowers and a few boomers but all quiet now at 9am.

@Ragman,
I’m working from home today. It poured for about an hour then cleared up, now it’s getting so dark outside I had to turn lights on.

@jcboy,
Yup! Brighter here now and not raining since 8:30 am but still overcast. On the radar it appears that St. Pete and northward to Clearwater looks pretty stormy right now on the western shoreline areas as of 12:30pm.

We're back into the thunder and stormy gusty bluster again. Pouring now. Life in the tropics, huh?!

We're at a boiling point, and I'm trying to clean out my closet by segregating the ones I wish to keep and those I'm going to give to Salvation Army or friends in Cuba.

Snow two days ago in the Barossa Valley...or the Barossa Valley hills, really....

Not only is snow vanishingly rare in my region at all, it is mid Spring!

27 C predicted for Sunday, though.....81 F.

@dlowan,
When I went out this morning it was 69 degrees. You know you get use to the heat living in Florida and when the temp drops that cold air goes right through you!

@jcboy,
Perhaps it was about 66 deg F here last night. Today, it's supposed to be around 85 for a high but the dew point will be in the 60s, which is a nice reasonable comfy spot (compared to the mid 70s sticky as typical). Pollen report says that weeds and grass pollen are quite high, though.

It's all in what you've gotten used to. As a former New Englander, this is my favorite part of the season. I went out in last night to walk my dog and check out the meteor shower (still cant see it yet...too much light scatter from the mall).

I breathed a sigh of relief. If the weather was like this most of the year, I'd be happy as a clam. I finally could shut off my a/c at night. My electric bill will climb back down again.

Of course I didn't grow up in So. Calif.

@Ragman,
We've had had some really warm 'summer time' the last couple of days, up to 26° (that's 78°F) ... the warmest October (days) ever recorded.
