@sozobe,

That's like amazing.

Unprecedented weather here too, in the UK.

We must sacrifice 21 virgins to the weather gods, forthwith. Or chickens.

Chickens might be easier to find.

Horrible storms in West Virginia and Virginia. Thousands of dollars in damage.

Just talked to my niece and she doesn't live too far from Charlottesville.

Many folks are without electricity in that area and even Washington D.C.

Nothing from my daughter. Sad

@Letty,
I hope you hear from your daughter soon!

We have another red blob approaching... not quite as bad as Friday's but not small either.

Another 100 degree day, with at least two more coming. The numbers of those without power is down to 150 or 200 thousand houses, thanks in no small part to crews from 16 states and Canada.
They, along with local crews, are working long hours under difficult circumstances. They would work for x-hours to restore power to 1000 customers. Now they have to work the same x-hours for 100 customers. Pity the people whose lines only serve 10 customers.

It says its only 86 outside but it sure feels hotter! I brought the dogs in so they can get out of the heat.

All three of them are napping in their crates.

@ehBeth,
B-b-but, I hate snow even more! Why can't it just stay in the 60s and 70s all year?!

@Eva,
This is my third summer in Florida. The first one I thought to myself what the heck have I done! I couldn’t stand the humidity! The second year wasn’t so bad.

Now that this is my third year I seem to be getting use to it, the heat and humidity doesn’t bother me.

Plus in the summer I love the afternoon thunder showers we get!

@Eva,
Sounds like San Diego climate, but we love it here in Northern California, because of it's moderate climate, and in a good location not far from the ocean or mountains, San Francisco, the wine country, Santa Cruz, Carmel, Monterey, and a host of other places within easy driving distance.

We appear to have topped off at 104 in C'ville - 100 miles south of DC. 102 degrees now. One more day of 100 degrees and then 85 and rain on Monday.
I hope yall also get some relief.

@jcboy,
I'm looking skyward but mainly the sun's out here. Radar just showed a popup storm around 2:15-2:30 for St. Pete but nothing big. We are mostly sunny here..sticky and hot - 91 deg with pretty high dew point in low 70s. Says it feels like 98 though.

I'm going out to see a movie ...Dark Shadows.

@Ragman,
Yep, booming thunder right now.

We’re getting a nice little rain shower now, which is nice since I cut the grass yesterday and everything needs watering.

Some thunder and a little rain, but the temp has dropped almost 20 degrees in an hour. Down to 85.

@jcboy,
We got blasted It went from 91 at 4pm to to 78 now.

I was watching the movie Dark Shadows with my friend. She and I could hear something around 5:30 but when you're watching a gothic horror movie, it all fit right in. I heard booms and rumbles and finally figured it was outside the theater and not part of the movie. What a downpour! I came home and my thunder-phobic dog was drooling and shaking due to the lightning and the noise. Poor thing! Cuddle time.

@jcboy,
Same happened here. It woke me up, too. My dog was not a happy camper. He contacted his travel agent and booked a vacation flight back to the Northeast where we used to live.

Apprently this current weather pattern has us locked into this same thing for a few more days. The radar shows right now just south of us around Venice it's ugly. This weather front is circulating off in the Gulf northwest of us.

Forecasters say this might even develop into a tropical wave or depression. Not likely but still possible. Ugh!
