I get a lot of headaches in the same spot. My mom freaked out because it might be a tumor or something. Should I be concerned that I get headaches in the same spot a lot?
many migranes manifest themselves in the same spot every time...as well as some sinus headaches. if you are scared, see your doc. do you know when you get your headaches? if you remember from estrostep..i was getting severe migranes in the same place the three days before my period. so i realized that's what it was (no estrostep, no headaches). sinus headaches too though, i get them on the left side of my face next to my nose - in the sinus (migranes are on the left side, behind my eye). but i keep have track of what i eat, and i suspect since you got allergy tested, you may be having some sinus headaches...
I have no idea, but I know how much I hate headaches and I truly feel for ya. How long have you been getting them?
Wow Phoenix, didn't know there were so many different types. I just thought they came in Migraine and regular.
How's your blood pressure bella?
Recently, probably because I think I'm pre-menapausal, my blood pressure crept up, and I would daily get these headaches in the same spot.
As soon as I started BP medication, they went away.

bp is good and I am actually taking bp meds for my thyroid to control my heart rate so that rules high bp out.
phoenix always has good info!
I am taking one of the meds they prescribe for migraines so I would assume that I don't have them, although I have thought for a while that I did and my symptoms are best described in migraines.
Visual disruption, sensitivity to sound and light (while laying on my side, I cover my ear with my arm and the pain lessens ever so slightly), intense throbbing pain behind my left eye and left side of head, tenderness on the left side of my head and they last for hours. Usually the only thing that helps is sleep although taking Excedrin (aspirin, acetaminophen and caffeine) or something sililar often helps enough to cope. They make me want to clench my teeth although I know that clenching only makes headaches worse.
I would recommend seeing a doctor. I also was having repeated headaches in the same spot. It felt like an ice pick piercing my brain. They didn't last long, but they were coming more frequently. Fortunately for me, they were benign. I was diagnosed with "ice pick" headaches that are in the migraine family. Basically I needed more sleep and less stress. I did end up getting a new job which helped in both aspects so the headaches have pretty much disappeared.
There are so many causes of headaches, fortunately most are benign (but painful) that only a doctor can diagnose. Also, if they are severe, a doctor could help with appropriate medication or suggestions on how to decrease the pain.
I just had my eyes checked. They are fine.
It's not a sinus headache. I know what they feel like.
I can't take ibuprofin or any meds like that due to the meds I am currently taking so self medication is out.
I get terrible Migrains.
They got worse on the patch.
I had to stop it.
The only thing I found that makes them better is Ralspax. Sorry Im not sure how to spell it.
My Migrains got better when I was pregnant.
I was so surprised!
Hi Nissa!
Welcome to a2k!
To what pacth are you reffering?
Ive been getting alot of headaches recently, to the point where I take an aspirin every day.Though my usual tablets stopped working after a while
I talked to the doctor who said it was a migraine, he prescribed different tablets which were supposed to work a treat, I tried them for 2 days(to give them a chance to work)but I had a constant headache all that time.Ive gone back to the original tablets now as they work better.
LAst night i was trying to get to sleep with a piercing pain behind my right eye.
The things that give me a haedache, apart from girly monthly things, are mobile phones and basically anything with a radiation wave.
I used to have a pierced tongue, I bought myself a portabkle dvd player but after watching it for a couple of minutes I got a blinding headcahe and couldnt use it.
I thought about my piercing and realised it was a radiation antenna to my brain!
Sounds like Migraine, Bella, although you mentioned that you were already taking medication for migraine.
Excedrin - the drug you take sometimes is probably an Over-The-Counter painkiller...such drugs could have an adverse reaction on your headaches. "Rebound headaches" - they're called.
Some high BP medication also could trigger the migraine...I'd done some googling on migraine sometime back, hope this link still works:

I think you might need to check with the doc who's giving you tthe thyroid meds...
chinmayee, i think you are right about the bp meds. I think that they cause headaches.
I also think I am grinding my teeth at night, which does not help things. I am suppose to be fitted with a mouth guard but since my insurance only pays for 60%, I would be responsible for a whopping $300 to get one. Not right now. Not at Christmas.

I get those damn things. Very annoying. I'll be driving down the road (for some reason they usually happen when I'm driving) and......wham!....... the old ice pick in the temple.
They used to concern me, but now I just figure I'm paying for sins of my past.
Hi. This is my first time to ever post anything to a message board but I actually felt comfortable with you all. I came across this site when I googled Estrostep after spending yet another day home from work with a migraine that I'm thinking is caused by this BCP. After reading the Estrostep thread and jumping over to this one, I noticed it was the same people.
I've been diagnosed with migraines for 11 years and have never been put on anything to prevent them. It wasn't bad until about 6 months ago when I started taking Estrostep, now it seems like I'm getting a migraine every month at the beginning of my off week.
I was wondering if any of you are taking anything to prevent and if you were given any criteria for needing to take a preventative? My dr. doesn't seem to think much about my migraines so I'm wondering if I should change drs as well? I'm just tired of dealing with these stupid headaches all the time!!
headaches
this is a rather long article, but well worth reading if you have high b.p.
if you are taking calcium-channel blockers, headaches are one of the possible side-effects.
you might also want to google re. thyroid problems and see if they might aggravate headaches.
if you can't get your headaches under control quickly, better see a physician pronto ! good luck ! hbg
