@tsarstepan,
This guy makes some decent points, but I wish he was a little better organized. For example, he's trying to give an actual example of a fetus with a condition incompatible with life. Well, there's this thing called Google, and you can find a bunch of 'em. So, I feel that undercuts his message a bit.

I also think he misses the big, fat, glaring point.

The folks who are pushing these lies are wealthy, white, cis, WASP, and male. They are pushing this junk because their vision for America is white, Christian, male-dominated, and with the equivalent of slavery.

Parts of what they truly want include (this is where Project 2025 will lead us. Make no mistake about it):

* Poor people to stay poor and get poorer and lose all care. Why? So those poor people can simply die.
* White cis men to be preferred for jobs and aid. You're not all three? Then go piss up a rope, so far as they're concerned.
* People of the 'wrong' skin tone to become so desperate that they take to crime. Then this makes it open season on simply shooting them (yep, that's what your AR-15 is for) or sending them to for-profit prisons (where they will be forced into a form of slavery) or just bringing back plantations and open slavery, because life was so much better in the 1850s.
* Women to lose all rights to not just voting, but also earning a living and getting an education. What does a woman need to know, beyond following a recipe or making sure she gets the correct change at the store? This makes it virtually impossible for women to leave bad marriages, and it makes it nigh well impossible to have any sort of life without being married—and even widows had better get on the stick and get married again ASAP so they don't become a drain on resources. Put women in their places and make them into the baby factories they're supposed to be, as God and JD Vance intended, rather than bosses or teachers or politicians. And, of course, if a woman is of the 'wrong' skin tone, then she's not even good for becoming a baby factory. Instead, she's relegated to using her body for something else.
* Treatment for mental health care, for neurodivergent folks, for disabled people (including those with Down's Syndrome and the like) to be farmed out to institutions. And if you don't think those institutions will become for-profit, then you haven't been paying attention. Warehouse anyone who looks or speaks weirdly, and keep them away from the eyes of good, Christian citizens. And if the folks running the institution skim $ off the top and the freaks don't get food or health care or soap or education or anything like that, who cares? Let 'em die faster. It's cheaper that way.
* For-profit nursing homes for the elderly. Again, no enrichment, no oversight, etc. Why care about people who are only going to die soon, anyway? Why give them food that isn't half-eaten by rats? Why bother?

Think this can't happen? A lot of this has existed in the US. Look up the Tewksbury Almshouse when you get a chance.

Want something more recent? The Willowbrook School was closed about 50 years ago.

Or look up the Brighton Rehab and Wellness Center in Pennsylvania. Criminal charges were brought against that home in 2023.

Now imagine all of that with no regulation, and with no one in government or the law giving a damn.

As for the rest, just follow the trail, straight down the line, from putting the so-called 'right' people into government to, in any other way, allowing ideology to win out over common sense and fairness. And allowing people who are angry about women's freedom—or divorce, losing custody of their kids, being jailed for just smacking some bitch up, feeling queasy when they see someone out and about in public in a wheelchair—or whatever their grievances are being put into positions where they can decide policy.

This is a slight tangent, but there's some video going around where right wingers look at the Latin definition of fetus, claiming it means small person.

Although it has no bearing on the scientific reality, it's still wrong.

Fetus is used to describe the whole process of child bearing from conception to birth.

It's also used to describe produce, fruits and pulses.

Figuratively it can be used to mean a child, like we would use the term issue, but it's rare.

None of this makes any difference, if the Latin definition of fetus was "sacred inviolable soul that must not be harmed under any circumstances or God will be really pissed off", it wouldn't change the reality of prenatal care at all.
