Should we handle victory the way the Christian god decrees?

I absolutely do not have the concept of free will in the same way that religious folks interpret the words.

I do not use his words to discredit him. He uses his own words to discredit himself.

I don't blame him for anything, since I do not believe in the bible.

This is one area I agree with you; man is to blame for his own short-comings. However, there are exceptions to this general rule when we consider the chemistry of the brain.

Man is superior to the comic bible god. Man is real, god is a myth.

As I said before, I do not blame the bible god for anything, since he is a myth created by men.

I just use the parody to explain the irony of this bible god.

C.I.,

You use the parts of the Bible that you want to use no matter what anyone tells you about those passages.

If you do not believe in God then what is the point of referencing the Bible or God at all?

And wasn't you in an earlier thread that said something about God being responsible for Katrina?

You cannot discredit God with His own words. You are trying to discredit Him with your interpretation of His words. There is a huge difference there.

Then why did you write that God is to blame for Katrina?????

Why not? If he's the grand mover of this planet, it would seem, at least to christians, that the only answer is god. He created this planet and all its blemishes like storms, huricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, floods, landslides, and "everything."
Either he made everything or he made nothing. I go for nothing.

C.I.,

Well, if you go for nothing, you get nothing. Anyway, does that mean you are going to stop telling us what God is like and what God has done?

Can't have your cake and eat it too, my friend.

I am always amused at the presumption that Christians think they know what God thinks.

What fools these mortals be........(no, it's not from the Bible, but it applies).

I think God/energy/whatever has better things to do than sit around and listen to human beings whinings/beggings/pleadings. I think he created the universe and then went off to amuse himself elsewhere. I mean, wouldn't you be bored to death watching us kill each other century after century?

There things that bore and then there are those that bore. But, hey, I think God stays pretty entertained.

Not at all. In my opinion, it is just not for us to always know the results. All prayer is a kind of letting go the control and letting God take over. It helps the one who prays and the one prayed for or both, and most people of faith have experienced both kinds of help.

Who me? I am the first to say I don't know what God thinks. I think if humankind was able to know the mind of God or understand His workings, he wouldn't be much of a god. But if you are responding to MommaAngel, then you have to figure God also has a sense of humor or He wouldn't have given us one.

God Bless America!
Another complete presumption! Why would God bless one part of His creation over another? Why would he not bless the Muslims, etc, as well?

I say, God Bless America
Because No One Else Will

Fox,

Englishmajor is just trying to draw you and others into her web of nastiness (IMO). On one hand she rails at me for not having opinions and then on the other she rails at me for having one (like I think God is entertained).

Research on prayer has proved it does not work.
Why are christians wasting their time praying?
1. They don't know what god thinks
2. They don't know what god does
3. They don't know god

There you go again, C.I. You don't believe in God but you sure like to put facts out there about Him, don't you?

I've done my own research.

1. God tells us in the Bible pretty much what He thinks.
2. God also tells us in the Bible pretty much what God does and doesn't do. And, I know from experience what He does in my life.
3. I know God. Would you like me to introduce you to Him? He's just waiting for you to want to meet him.

And, uh, who did that research by the way? How many Christians were involved in the research? Did the research contain believers and non-believers? I'd say if it had non-believers, IMO they wouldn't know if prayer works or not since they probably don't believe enough to even pray.

Oh, and just as a side note. God does answer all prayers. Sometimes His answer is yes and sometimes His answer is no.

Oh, you are so funny. You think everyone should just accept what you say and how you say it. But God forbid, they say something about you that even sounds slightly negative.

What do you expect? You come in the threads and are deliberately rude to people. You have already told us you can say what you want anyway you want. And, what, we should say, oh, uh, that's ok? We are Christians! We are not doormats! We are also people with feelings. We aren't punching bags for your pleasure.

And, if I were the only one thinking you were acting nasty it would be one thing, but we both know that your attitude towards others has been pointed out by more than one poster.

Well personally I think all are blessed by God. The Bible says as much: the rain falls on the just and the unjust. But unless one has experienced God, there is simply no way to prove that God is. I don't even try. But my goodness, those that choose to put all their faith in humankind--God help us--do try so very very hard to prove his non-existance. They can't do that either. Smile

yeah, momma, by your fellow deluded Christians. Big deal. I am not intimidated by a bunch of Christians. There is an equal amount who think you are all way off base. If you don't like my threads why on earth do you read them? Go pet your cat, or something.

"...prove the non-existance of god...' ROFLMAO They sure know how to twist a negative into a negative, since there's no way in hell they can prove their god does exist. LOL They need to go back to school and study logic.
