With the eviction moratorium coming to an end, take it from a tenant organizer, know that eviction is a process with notices and time periods and court filings. Evictions take time and there's always a defense. Don't self-evict and leave bc LL says. Fight it.

Landlords also do not repeat do not fall in love with your renter.

And for that matter, the United States is willing to launch nuclear weapons at Chinese cities in order to prevent Taiwan from being conquered.

I know you do not live in the real world but still the US military is as powerful as all the others nations in the world by itself and there is not way on earth that we would need to used nuclear weapons to keep them from conquering Taiwan as at a guess two out of our ten carriers battlegroups should be more then enough to seal Taiwan without nukes

@BillRM,
Meanwhile, in the real world, a British carrier group is currently sailing through the disputed South China Sea region. China is not doing anything that could escalate into confrontation.

@izzythepush,
China's reaction to a Taiwanese declaration of independence would be rather more robust.

@izzythepush,
What you really want is carrier groups from all civilized nations... but you can't keep them there forever.

China's increasingly aggressive, hostile and bullying stance needs to be curbed. I don't know how or when or by what coalition, but it has to be stopped. They are outright intellectual property thieves and ethic criminals, not to mention the largest producer of fentanyl and carfentanyl - a huge killer in North America.

I'm talking about the government, of course, not individuals.

Look what they're doing to their own people - how many billionaires, scientists, researchers, actors, etc. have been arrested on "being troublesome" grounds? More arrests today... they're really cracking down on dissidents.

They've punished just about every nation that has stood up to them or accused them of humanity crimes... Australia and Canada, to name just two. We want our 2 Michaels back and I sorrowfully doubt that'll ever happen.

Kidnap someone that the Chinese government cares about. Hold them until China is willing to trade.

Sure, like they held to the Hong Kong agreement.

If one of the sides does not hold to the agreement, then both sides go to war.

You are wrong. Both sides are willing to wage a nuclear war over Taiwan.

You cannot point out anything in my posts that is untrue.

Perhaps. But we are still willing to use nukes if conventional force fails to prevent Taiwan from being conquered.

And China is still willing to use nukes if conventional force fails to prevent Taiwanese independence.

And if war breaks out, one side or the other is going to lose the conventional war.

What would you expect these carrier battlegroups to achieve that would be of any use to Taiwan?

@oralloy,
Well, we've (or the US, I should say) virtually kidnapped W. Meng Zhou. And Canada has paid the price. They're in jail and she's in a multi-million dollar mansion.

@Mame,
A lawful arrest isn't exactly kidnapping.

But, change W. Meng Zhou's accommodations to something atrocious until China frees your people.

I've been waiting for someone to show some gumption and reinstall the eviction moratorium, which even if reinstalled is bullshit without checks being given landlords and tenants, enough to cover until they can recover from the harm brought on by the pandemic. Evictions in the hottest part of the year makes for en even greater crime.

@oralloy,
We don't operate that way here. But I get it. And no one really knows if it was lawful or not (so far), but our 2 Michaels (as we call them) are suffering for it. China has, simply put, become an abomination of a country.

Remember lead-painted toys, cement in baby formula? Like who the **** would do that?

I will never buy another Chinese-made-produced-packaged-mailed item ever again. I will pay double to buy from somewhere ethical. It's a disgusting country with unethical, immoral, and, even more, heinous practices. Everyone in the world should boycott this bully.

@Mame,
Have your navy seize one of China's smaller warships and hold it and its crew hostage until China releases your people.

Make sure to riffle through it and examine all their secret technology. Invite all your friends and allies to riffle through all their their secret technology too.

No we should keep doing what we had done for over 60 years as far as Cuba is concern as you can never tell maybe it will work sometime in the next 60 years.
