Today, 348 years, 6 months and 19 days ago, the Parisians awoke to the noise of all the bells tolling away full blast in the 3-fold birth of the City, the University, and the Town. (Francis might fine-tune it, but that's pretty much the gist of it.)

It's fine, JZ, except you need to capitalize:" I want you to speak French to me." English needs to be capitalized, too.

I don't think "advanced" would apply to languages, JZ. There are more complex and less complex languages. As languages "age," they become less complex, grammatically (less inflected).

Probably the most difficult language to learn is Chinese.

What did you say your native tongue was?

Which do you think is the most advanced language? A votre avis, quelle est la langue la plus avancee? (There needs to be an accent aigue on the next to the last "e," but Francis has not yet had the time to advise me on how to insert accent marks Crying or Very sad )

Try this:

while pressing "Alt", type "0232", release Alt.
while pressing "Alt", type "0233", release Alt.

What happens?

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Point de lettres, et une petite cloche sonne chaque fois que je tappe! Il semble que j'ai un ordinateur rebellieux (ou bien, typiquement americain -----> n'aime pas les langues etrangeres Laughing )

Merci pour l'aide!

Oooo, yes, JZ, I can imagine! But, on the other hand, you have a natural command of the language of the future! Smile

I'll let our resident expert French speaker, Francis, tackle that one (I'm better with French to English, and besides, I don't want to usurp his position  )

But I will allow myself a reaction, LOL: UGH! What a terrible "souvenir"! I'd rather not have that kind. Shocked

Excellent! Je vais l'essayer! Merci!

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I still maintain that this computer is a foreign language refusenik!
