@snood,
Gaetz definitely lost any kind of defense from Fox News. Now they are throwing Gaetz under the bus.

@Rebelofnj,
I suspect he's toast. The details are broadly verified and if that continues, as seems likely, he's a growing embarrassment. This would be less significant but being a high profile Trumpy and a FOX regular, they'll find it convenient to cancel him.

On the other hand, because liberals have not been dependable moral relativists, conservatives have had to show us how it's really supposed to be done.

No state of denial and no nonsense. You engage in childish name-calling because you can't defend your demented ideology using facts or logic.

I always deal in facts and reality. That's why you can never point out anything that I'm wrong about.

Fail.

That describes you and MJ more than if does anyone else here. Fail indeed.

What's the justification for your outrageous accusation that that rabidfox character uses the same tactics that I do?

@oralloy,
That is incorrect. Spewing whacko conspiracy theories is not dealing in facts or reality. And I point out you're wrong all the time.

You're lying. You cannot provide a single example of you ever pointing out an untrue statement in my posts.

On Facebook, a right wing individual who I'd known from my home town posted a number of comments and linked some right wing pieces which I responded to with careful argument and links to supporting information. This happened a number of time. There were no rebuttals but lots of personal insults. She then deleted my posts. She justified cancelling me because, she said, I had cancelled her.

Of course, all I'd done was to challenge her, carefully - with no insults - and in the standard manner of orderly discourse. She perceived my behavior and hers as identical (except that she wasn't "bloviating").

Presently, right wing media is going kind of nuts over MLB's decision to move the All Star game out of Georgia. "Cancel culture" is the theme. And that's a theme the right is going full-bore on presently.

"Political correctness", I gather, no longer polls well, being rather hoary and less useful than it was so a new panic was in order. And because "cancel culture" is so unclear and ambiguous I expect we'll see it continue to blossom in use.

No you didn't. You didn't link to a single example of anything at all in your post.

True. However, some slogans could be recycled, would then look fresher and spice up the show even more.

Yeah, he’s funny both ways. He’s funny in the way that you just can’t help cracking up over how ridiculous are the the things he says.
He’s also ‘funny’ in the way that would cause you to look askance at someone. Like that ‘funny’ acting homeless guy muttering to himself.

Speaking only for myself, I would hope that my criticism of other members' particular posts is seen as exactly that, and not as personal insults. To point out someone's ignorance is not the same as calling them stupid.

When someone still can't get his mind around the fact that Trump's unsuitability to continue to hold office led to a record high turnout of voters — after it's been explained to him probably a dozen times, well yes, it makes a firm foundation for fact-based, not "baseless", criticism.

But you're clever enough to simply avoid making claims which purport to be factual, relying on a number of well-worn personal slogans, conservative canards, and groundless accusations which are merely opinions — which in turn leads to the endless rounds of assertion, denial, and denunciation which we all find entertaining.

@hightor,
It's been my experience he says the opposite of whatever you say with nothing to back up his statements with arguments of why he made the opposite statement. It like someone talks about climate change, gives all kind of reasons for their understanding of what the earth is going through. (I watch a lot of BBC Planet Earth series.) Then oralloy just picks a sentence out of the whole and says the opposite of it. You can't really respond unless you want to just repeat what you just said. It is tiresome.

Your criticism of me is blatantly untrue. I have every right to feel insulted. And your refusal to even try to justify what you said about me shows that you know what you said is untrue.

You make it sound like "not posting falsehoods" is an evil plot on my part.

Hardly groundless.

My low opinion of progressives is well earned by the vile atrocities that they eagerly commit.

hightor wrote:

People who commit atrocities always enjoy compounding those atrocities by denying that they happened.

Progressives are little different from history's other inhuman monsters in such denials.

Nonsense. People are always free to ask for cites if they question my claims. That should be self evident. It's standard internet etiquette.

This should be doubly clear because I always make a point of clearly stating that I'm happy to provide cites if anyone has questions.

If you choose to never ask for a cite, that's your decision.

It is likely that the sentence in question is untrue if I challenged it.

revelette3 wrote:

Well, you could just take me at my word that the sentence that I challenged is false.

Or you could ask me why I think that.

Or you could ask me for a cite to back up whatever it is that I've just claimed.

If you find it tiresome to have people disagree with something that you say, you're going to be pretty tired going through life.
