Redundant.

Intentional means not done by accident.
Deliberate means something considered carefully beforehand.
Since the two words have different meanings, to say it is a redundancy to use them together is incorrect.

That's what Jan 6 was all about. Patriots wanting their nation back. I'm not at all surprised that you don't get it.

One day you might.

Elections are better than dictatorships, that's for sure. Will it solve every single problem, every single issue? No, but sure helps.

Jan 6 was about a bunch of whiners bemoaning the fact they lost. They are not patriots in any sense, just bullies and malcontents.

It's farcical to think they can storm a building and magically the Country will zoom back in time to be "what It once was." Nobody wants that, including them. So stop pretending it was such a great maneuver. It wasn't.

@Lash,
Deliberate
Synonyms include: planned, calculated, considered, premeditated, preconceived…

The two words have shades of difference. Used together, intentional and deliberate convey a different meaning than would each adjective if used alone.

This would only be confusing to someone without a grasp of subtleties in the English language.
Or… someone without the requisite grace to admit being wrong.

Nope. They can be combined when you wish to emphasize the care that went into an intended action. In addition, a deliberate action can have unintentional consequences, despite the care that was put into it.

@hightor,
Even if it were the case redundant is the wrong word.

One would have thought someone claiming to be a teacher would be aware of tautology.

I might have an explanation.

In her practice of teaching, Lash only dealt with the cosmically perplexing problems and vexing issues that baffle mankind’s deep thinkers and philosophers. Her bottomless reservoir of wisdom was necessarily reserved only for conveying solutions for huge, timeless questions to her grateful classes of elite students.

An educator of this significance and importance could scarcely be expected to waste time familiarizing herself with such mundanities as proper usage of words.

That might be it.

At least I do have the ability to answer a straight question, Walter. Still available to create sentence stems for you. No charge.

You see? She sees every interaction as win or lose, zero sum. She CANNOT simply be mistaken. That would mean < insert dramatic flourish here> she lost!!

I think that if we all agreed with her, she'd go somewhere else.

@izzythepush,
I always learn something when ya'll get to talking or whatever, I have only a high school education, as I have said many times. But I have learned a lot on this board through all this time on here. Following you all conversation and then your unknown word to me I looked it up on Bing then a search engine.

Quote:
What does tautology mean?
A tautology is any statement that is self confirming. This is generally observed as a statement where the second half of the statement is just a repeat of the first half. [Tautology means “repeating statement”].

An example of a tautology.

Quote:
Genesis 43:14 (ASV) and God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may release unto you your other brother and Benjamin. And if I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved.

Genesis 43:14 (CJB) May El Shaddai give you favor in the man's sight, so that he will release to you your other brother as well as Binyamin. As for me, if I must lose my children, lose them I will."

I think real radio's words, like hightor said, two different meanings. With thought beforehand, he made a purposeful statement.

But even if he did make a redundant statement, who really cares, why point it out as though that is any kind of answer? Radio was basically saying he already said what he meant to say when lash said to go back and read it again.

I do realize that I’m in the presence of some of the greatest thinkers of this age, but it seems you have a problem that you just can’t solve. I think I can help.

There’s this feature called ignore that helps you to avoid *everything* I say. Works like a charm. You get to do you, I get to do me, and everyone is happy.

If, however, you feel strongly that you must control the speech of others, well then. I think you should reconsider. Murrika!
