@goldberg,
So you do not know what you are talking about. Which lack clearly doesn't stop you from talking
about it anyway.

@MontereyJack,
Do you really have to dragoon me into believing she has published some sought-after novels? Didn't I tell you it's okay if you want to read such novels written by black politicians? Please don't come on strong like this.

I don't even care if you read her novels or not. You just wouldn't catch me reading her rotten novels.

@MontereyJack,
I also don't read the Times and the Post. I'm not reading it again until the Times starts acting like a marquee publication instead of a place overrun by far-left liberals.

@goldberg,
What is your concern over her financial success? From your post, it sounds like she is doing the American dream thing, buying homes, upgrading, etc. Interesting how you (or perhaps the original author) twist numbers here.
Quote:
According to her 2017 financial disclosure forms for her campaign, Abrams had a net worth of just under $110,000 with just above $410,000 in total liabilities.

Net worth is after liabilities. If you want to talk liabilities, you should talk assets. She had assets in 2017 of $520K which makes since with two homes. Your post is somewhat deceptive, implying she has was overall in debt by putting those particular mismatched numbers side by side. It also makes sense that she had $410k in liabilities since she likely has two home loans. Again, it looks deceptive when you flip to her current situation where suddenly you are talking assets and not mentioning liabilities. If you are only going to quote one number, you should use net worth. That second home likely has a $700k mortgage so her net worth has improved but is still likely well below $1m.
goldberg wrote:

The home Abrams purchased in October of last year is now valued at $1,003,934.

I had to laugh at the seven significant figure value for her current home value. That is some appraisal.

Liberals are fairly centrist, that’s what liberalism is.

Anyone using the term far left liberal clearly has no understanding of language.

Supreme Court Upholds Arizona Voting Restrictions

This looks ominous, even if might have been expected. Garland's going to have a tough time with the Georgia lawsuit.

Anyone is free to self-identify as a black person.

If black people ever succeed with that reparations nonsense, I might cash in on it too. Why not?

What is everyones’ opinion about how significant the indictment of Trump organization CFO is?

@snood,
IMO, not very significant. At this point, if you don't believe that Trump is shady, nothing is going to convince you. There is nothing here we didn't already know from multiple sources. Yes, justice should be done but rich people get away with stuff like this all the time, they are just better about doing it above board. Heck, if someone wants to give me a massive bonus, I'll pay taxes on it. Why not? It's not the greed, it's the degree of greed that gets you.

Depends on what they have. If the DA shows that he has enough for a conviction...and indicates that he will go for a kill (including Weisellberg's kids)...he will flip.

Nobody is going to prison for Trump. Everyone knows he will scorch them if needs be. The thought that Weisellberg will die for Trump is far-fetched. But...Weisellberg may not have enough to make a reasonable deal. Trump made sure he was apart from all the bad stuff...and can still claim he did not realize what was going on was illegal.

Bottom line, though: I say the snake will be skinned. Trump absolutely, positively MUST BE MADE TO PAY for what he has done to our nation.

@engineer,
Part of the problem is the brainwashing that has made Americans think that when a certain class of people do dirt, it means they’re crafty and smart, and even “good” businessmen. You just said as much. It’s as if for certain people the ends justify the means.

It seems the only people from whom honesty and integrity is required are the working class and poor. If you’re rich, you’re not only not expected to have scruples, you’re celebrated for ruthlessness. As long as you turn a profit.

It’s almost like money is god, or something.

@oralloy,
Not true. It has everything to do with making it harder to vote because when more people vote they do not vote Republican. It has nothing to do with cheating. It has everything to do with lose. So they're making sure in future more people can' walys for legitimate voters to vote. Largely due to the pandemic, there were many more ways to , they would lose. legitimately so there were a lot more d votes and asgop leaders had said publicly if more voted they would lose. So they're making sure more people won't be able to vote. Its cynical anti democracy.

Well, I don’t know what else is going to happen. But I did take a little consolation in watching that fatcat sumbitch getting perpwalked in handcuffs. And hearing that he’s getting charged with 15 felonies.

@snood,
I think it is highly significant. If nothing else happens, theRump business is history. It is going down, period. There will be a run on his liabilities. Banks and all others are going call.in loans. They or tRump will have to sell properities. I do believe in the end he will go to jail.

I agree, Snood. Easily one of the most enjoyable perp walks I've ever seen. And I suspect that he, as so many before him, came away from the experience with all sorts of new worries.

Michael Cohen seems certain that he will flip.

I think the DA's have lots of stuff already in hard evidence. Flipping Weisellberg may be just icing on the cake.

I hope so. Originally I was one of the people advocating against charging Trump with anything. I saw it as a banana republic thing. But now...I see it as a necessity.

Trump has got to pay for this mess...or the nation will never be whole again.

Outlawing the Democratic Party will put an end to these sorts of witch hunts against people who don't agree with them.
