Okay, could be that here we use different names for it -
but this color is quite nice on the road.

Mine is a burgundy metallic - you don't see the dirt
there either (or I just don't care Mr. Green)

Alright, I'll say it. The color vs. dirt argument is retarded, especially in a high end car.

If you're driving a Mercedes or BMW, keep the f'n thing clean, you can afford a weekly car wash and/or monthly detail.

Silver or Blue or black ?

Am leaning towards Blue with beige interior

When did you turn into an 80 year old man?

A black cashmere coat in a blue with beige interior 4-door sedan?

The coat is fab - you need to kinda get the car to live up to that standard.

It's not the money, it's the time factor slappy.
Who has time to sit there for 20 min. at the car wash?

Slappy you do know what the weather is like in London right ? It can rain any time and can go from bright sunshine to pouring rain in abt 5 mins flat. And since I do not have covered parking the car has to stay out in the open and wont remain clean for more than a day believe you me !! I have a car wash service, and they come twice a week - I get away with it cause my current car is silver, and dust does not show that much !!

Am still flipping and flopping abt the make - on one hand I do want the merc, on one hand I think maybe I should buy another flat with the money I am planning to spend on the car...

What do you mean, buy another flat? Is that a house?

If that's the case, go with the real estate. The novelty of the car will wear off soon, and homes appreciate in value while cars tank.

Right! Buy a flat (condominium in the US) and lease
the darn car. I'm sure the lease payments you can write
off with your taxes ....

So What do I do ?

Do yourself a huge favor and buy one of the 6-cylindar Honda Accords instead and keep the difference in your own bank account.

The flat, I stayed in during the London meeting, might be still for sale - included is not only 24/24 survey but a multi-storey car park as well ... and it's in walking distance to your office (7 min, I guess).

And the view from the window really is great

More or less opposite the main entrance:

(I've chosen the night shots, since that will be the view, you generally would have  )

Hmmm...real estate sounds a better idea now, as London gets the Olympics - property prices are sure to go up (atleast till 2012) - though I surely cannot afford the area which Walter is suggesting - one bedroom flats start at abt 200,000 quid !!

And oh, I do not like Japanese cars (except maybe Lexus) so a Honda is a no no.

And am also very reluctant to buy a used car....
