@roger,
I would

Problem is because of the way my last job ended I don’t really have a reference capability from the last place of employment

@Borat Sister,
And because I stay in jobs a long time, my previous employment reference is from years ago!

@roger,
It was certainly extremely horrible. But becoming increasingly common in health where I live.

@Borat Sister,
How long were you at this horrible job?

In the health care community, would other companies, agencies, etc. know about these people, and (I'm guessing) bad vibes, reputation, whatever happened?

The fact you were at your other places so long counts for a lot!

Good luck! Work from home, 20 hours, phone work. Sounds like a dream job.

@chai2,
Oh, it wasn’t a horrible job....it was a fantastic job and the people were very good.

It was just a job where I was very isolated and management, though well meaning, were too overwhelmed by ongoing demands to support me properly.

I burned out and resigned, based on incorrect information

Their HR department were the horrible ones so we ended up in court, which always leads to dramas, sadly. When I was unwell it was horrible for everyone

I’m disappointed that my boss is letting that last couple of months outweigh the previous thirteen years, but c’est la vie.

They are known as a bad employer, but I doubt the agency I am applying to would know that.

In the lap of the gods

@Borat Sister,
Oh! You were there 13 years.
As long as you carefully phrase the reason you left in your interview, and explain well, think you’ll be fine. Particularly if you’re able to say how great the people were overall. Hey, things happen. They’ll know there’s always 2 or more sides.

Don’t know about OZ but in the US HR can only give out a certain amount of info. Like dates of employment and eligible for rehire.

In my personal experience, if I saw someone was at a place 13 years, but the HE said they weren’t eligible for rehire, I wouldn’t feel an immediate red flag, or none at all if the candidate had been immediately up front with me.

References and employment verification isn’t done until after the first interview at least, so you have a lot of control.

@chai2,
Using the cell is torture. The keyboard is so tiny I hit 2 or 3 keys at the same time. ..and ain't a one of them is what I was targeting.

Here's hoping you're having a better day today.

...and Borat, I have been wondering and concerned about Roberta.

@chai2,
They wouldn’t want to go to HR for a reference. They’d want to go to my boss.

We’ll see

The online Labor Day sales just came out. I'm glad I waited to order the coffee table and side table I wanted. Everything was 25% off and I had a $45 Rewards credit from my previous purchase of 2 bed frames.

So....I also got an entry table, a set of 4 marble coasters, and a great green marble tray for holding candles in my yoga studio, aka the dining room.
