I am grateful that she always leaves me a whole, unmarked mouse. Just generally not in the bed.

I have been left multiple mice and rats, whole or disturbingly NOT whole, by my Abyssinian, Jake, in years gone by.

Rat drumsticks in the sofa, tails everywhere, rat cores on the floors.

@chai2,
Very Happy

Jake used to line the bodies up at the end of my bed sometimes. Yes, multiple bodies.

We lived in an old suburb with multitudes of rats. Not by the time Jake finished there weren’t.

@ehBeth,
Things started improving yesterday, and are much better this morning. Perhaps you'll be so lucky.

@margo,
And entice you did, margo. Ta awfully.

A quick glance round reveals a nice neighborhood. Ideal for social distancing I would think. Easy to maintain six feet separation while scavenging for toilet rolls. Who'd a thunk?!!

Good to see y'all.

@Roberta,
Hey, Boida. Have looked in on the beautiful animals from time to time. Over a thousand pages now!!!

How're things at the park? Think my driveway was nearly as busy as Times Square a while back! Amazing!!!

@akaDebacle,
The park? I don't go to the park. I don't go anywhere. As for Times Square. A ghost town.

Yup, the beautiful animals thread keeps trudging along. I still enjoy it.

@Roberta,
can you put a hummingbird feer onto a window? We got one of those with suction cups three yers ago and we have it in the kitchen window.
You have to renew the suction cups very two yers or so. Now they make these vinyl suction cups that hold a suction really well

are you really high up in your building?

@farmerman,
Hey, fm. I'm on the eighth floor of my building. Even if I were lower down, the prospect of seeing a hummingbird in my neighborhood is nil. We've got pigeons, sparrows, and starlings, but rarely this high up.

A few blocks away, there are hawks and falcons nesting--very high up. Eight floors ain't nothing to them.

Just a thought--how the hell would I attach the suction cups to the outside of an eighth floor window? Just wondering. I envy your ability to see hummingbirds.

Hey, Debacle, Where am I gonna go?

@Roberta,
There are two Red Tail Hawks that for two years have been nesting in some tall maple trees behind my neighbor's house across the street. They fly all over the area like pets. Yesterday one was sitting on next door's patio chair within four feet of her sliding glass doors. Merely glanced at me when I stepped outside and then carried on gazing at its reflection in the glass. Probably hoping that strange hawk might come out to play

@Roberta,

How would I attach the suction cups..?

I figure a nail gun might be the way to go. (although that may crack the glass. Of course then the boids could fly in and out freely...)

@Roberta,
Roberta, can you sprinkle birdseed or bread on the outside part of your window sill?

I guess that would attract rats though.

Even on the eighth floor the squirrels would get to a bird feeder.

@edgarblythe,
One of my cats likes to watch those "videos for cats" on youtube.

This is one of his favs

It'll keep him occupied up to 10 minutes.
