Yes. One book for our book group. I assume there’s a night return hatch.
This is the group where some people were insisting on meeting up and refusing to consider virtual options last week.
I was the one who said I believed it breached guidelines and I wouldn’t be going and asked if people wanted to consider Skype or zoom.
I’m just sitting back now and waiting. The meeting was supposed to be 20th April.
What would you say are the ages of those resistant to skyping, etc?
I wonder if there is one person that if you cracked/persuaded that one, the others would suddenly be agreeable.
Could it be that one or more actually doesn't know what all this means, and just don't want to look foolish by admitting it?
I know I've had things in life that I thought were above my head, and suddenly, one little thing made it all click.
Kirk for example. For years he simply could not understand what I was telling him how this computer and internet thing worked. I even made and printed out a step by step powerpoint tutorial for him. Nope.
Then, (years ago now) when he got a cell phone, it was as if he had a revelation. With just a few days he was googling, texting, watching videos, emailing etc etc.
Funny, we would be watching a movie on TV, and he'd suddenly start reading to me something about one of the actors, which he looked up while watching the show.
Never brought it up with him, but I suspect he felt in control of this phone in his hand. Like he knew what a phone did, and it was just a natural extension of it being the conduit to perform other things.
Just an idea.
