@cherrie,
Sorry to hear that. Still, you have a fabulous history compared to most of the rest of the world.

@roger,
Yes, we've done pretty well but we've had some very strong restrictions along the way that were very strictly enforced.
Being so far away from the rest of the world doesn't hurt either.

@Borat Sister,
Unfortunately yes.

They are people who have been to NSW recently and brought it back with them, and then went to restaurants and Boxing Day sales and so on. And of course shared it among large numbers of people.

I’m starting to understand the exodus from the cities. Out here in rural America it’s like seeing/reading about life on another planet.

@izzythepush,
Maybe 'Forbidden Planet', where people are pursued by an invisible monster born from their own id.

@Leadfoot,
That was based on The Tempest.

“Monster, I do smell all horse piss, at which my nose is in great indignation.”

@Leadfoot,
I’m quoting directly from the play which inspired the film you mentioned.

It’s one of my favourite Shakespeare quotations.

@izzythepush,
I do like them too.
Have you seen HBO's 'Deadwood' series?
The Shakespearian dialog is fantastic.

@Leadfoot,
I did see it back then, I’ve got the last episode made a few years later taped. I’ve got to get round to seeing it.

A great comedy series about Shakespeare is called Upstart Crow, it’s very similar to Blackadder and stars David Mitchell as Shakespeare. Spencer Jones does a brilliant turn in the role of real historical figure William Kemp, playing him as Ricky Gervais, and I mean exactly like Gervais. I don’t think Gervais likes it at all.

@Leadfoot,
I wouldnt call it Shakespearian on "Deadwood" , but more plain ole Victorian ,(often the words are selectively miisused for a "hillbilly eggect"

I watched the HBO Movie based on the series. It was Deadwood 10 years later and just a much a "Fuckyoufest" as was the series.
NOT SO MUCH DID I LIKE IT. I think the same would happen with a movie about the Sopranos. Some things need a soap tring not a "Everything in an hour-na-half".

@farmerman,
Guess you didn’t hear the distinction. Shakespeare was sandwiched between the '**** you's'.
I didn’t see the movie. I was afraid they would **** it up.
Sounds like they did.

@Borat Sister,
Yeah, it is.

The NSW border is closing again at 11.59 tonight. Only Victorians are being allowed through and must get tested immediately, and then stay home till they get the results. Any Victorians who don't make it through by that time will be stuck in NSW till the border reopens.
