Bush is correct, but he failed to inform congress or the American people. Even though he didn't need to, it was a stupid political mistake on his part.

Here are the responses thus far:

Walter: I don't know.
c.i.: Your question isn't specific enough.
McTag: All Bush supporters are arses.
LW: I don't really know how I ought to answer your question, but Bush is always wrong, so I'll go with that.
ehBeth: Ask VOA.

You can add me to the "I don't know" list, Tico.

I do think the whole thing's totally overblown, anyway. It's odd what stories catch the public / political attention like that.

I'm enjoying watching the fall-out though. Gloating too, yeah.

I'm with c.i. on this...Bush failed to inform Congress and the American people, most of whom he has scared WITLESS about foreign ARABS! I read the lead editorial in the WAPO today and I must say I am ashamed of Shumer and Hillary. They wanted to beat their breasts to beat the administration because they knew the American people are just a "trifle" zenophobic over everything because of the GWOT since 9/11. Good Grief! What did Bush expect?

So Bush is responsible for the demagoguery of Clinton and Schummer?

Finn...his actions have fueled all sorts of behavior. That Schumer and Clinton have reacted politically to this is not a surprise. I don't condone it...it is what it is...I don't like either one of them. But I despise what the administration has done to politicize every damn thing since 9/11. You reap what you sow.

An arse is an arse is an arse.

As for Bush being wrong, it isn't always that he is wrong but he is wrong in the way he goes about getting what he wants. His advisors don't seem to have a good rein on him anymore. He's been tooted as a maverick but, I'm afraid, not in any positive meaning of the word. It's because it's all in his own head.

Bush was never a good manager of business or people - all necessary ingredients to be a successful leader. When such an incompetent imbecile tries to run the only superpower country on this planet, expecting him to perform beyond his skill level is an impossible expectation.

He had some excellent advisers at the beginning of his presidency, but he managed to belittle their contributions and most disappeared from the scene. He ended up with all "yes" men and women.

Most of Bush's biggest projects are failures. He even failed to respond to the people after Katrina, and some Americans still think Bush is capable of protecting us.

Some Americans also think it's okay for Bush to ignore the Constitution and Bill of Rights to protect us from terrorists. They still don't realize it, but we've already lost the war. America is no longer the "Land of the Free and the Brave."

There's nothing for democrats to gloat about. Their silence has killed the golden goose.

c.i. , I agree with you again. Nothing to gloat about. Remember the bankruptcy bill? That was just one chance for them to stand up for the little guy and they failed miserably. Biden and Carper of Delaware stand out in my mind. They are taking in the credit card money for their re-elections.

Correct. When does bankruptcy not mean bankruptcy? Most people that file try to keep some of their credit cards and agree to pay them back in order to keep some credit alive. It's the common citizen who is without health insurance and then gets hit with a huge medical bill that files who will suffer. That's just one instance.

Bush Shocked by Arrest of Former Adviser By DEB RIECHMANN, Associated Press Writer
Sat Mar 11, 1:03 PM ET

President Bush on Saturday said he was shocked and saddened to learn that.

But he was kind of passe on Abramhoff and his connections to the republicans - like he really does't know him.

I don't know, CI, what?

Is it because the article describes Mr Bush as a "President"?
