Thank you. It'll be more fun that way.

For a little while, at least. As the year progresses, I predict you will have much less to laugh about. But yuk it up some more while ya can!

"a liberal"---no

I support some social policies that are considered liberal.

So, to me, that should be a bit of evidence that I have zero confidence in Democrat leadership, and strong confidence in conservative fiscal and foreign policy, among others.

I seem to remember you (or one of your compadres) saying that same thing before the last election, but...ok. Very Happy

I didn't read Cyclops' blog link, but there was this under the "Comments" section that I think is fairly relevant:

Quote:
Bush hatred is a chronic illness that is polluting our political culture and heartening our enemies, and you've got a bad infection.

Lash, surely you have no confidence in the current administration? I can understand you buying into the Republican philosophy -- it has its merits for some individuals -- but this is something completely different, something dark and evil, something that reeks of decaying flesh.

That certainly seems to be the popular sentiment of the Democrats.

When I examine their charges, half are completely crazy and the other half, I have been done plenty of times before by Democrats.

The indignation rings hollow.

Perfect..of course not.

As horrible as they try to make him appear....of course not.

My opinion, anyway.

So you didn't read the post, JW, but you scrolled down to find the only partisan Pro-Bush post you could find?

Typical of your shallow abilities, really

Please do not assume I am a Democrat, far from it. I just happen to like the United States and its people and prefer not seeing an idiot in charge.

Simple as that.

I mean, you prove the point of the post completely, JW. It couldn't be funnier.

Personally, since you obviously haven't happened upon my millions of noisy opinions, I think Democrats (a certain form of which seems to be extinct) are important in the two party system.

The realists fight for what they deem important, the idealists fight for their issues and somewhere near the middle, the country is best served.

I don't hate Democrats--I just hate what has become of them. There's no substanitive dialogue. Just sound bites and gotchas and conspiracy theories.

I respect authentic, thoughtful Democrats.

Plus, I'm worried about our future evenings on the bayou, listening to your bug zapper.

I don't hate Republicans--I just hate what has become of them. There's no substanitive dialogue. Just sound bites and gotchas and fearmongering. And running up giant debts. Oh, and secretly making new laws curtailing freedoms.

The public media leaders of the Republican party - Coulter, Limbaugh, Drudge, O'reily - are the worst: Accusing all Democrats of being traitors. Talking about killing Democrats with baseball bats, burning us to death, rounding us up in concentration camps.

It isn't as if this isn't a two-way street, darlin.

Darlin--

You think Republicans have changed for the worse... I think they've changed for the better, and I can see the dialogue that has plummeted among Dem politcians. Your attempt to use Coulter, Limbaugh, Drudge, O'reily as Republican leaders is in evidence.

I said media leaders, which is just as important as political ones these days.

How many people hear Limbaugh, O'reilly, Hannity, Coulter on the radio or net? How many hear Frist, DeLay, Rove, Cheney live, in comparison, on CSpan or in person? Far fewer.

From an excellent post on this subject at Metafilter that I saw today, on the Republican media leaders:

Quote:
They act out the dark scripts that the powerful write, but don't publicly perform.

They do nothing more than what the Cult of Personality tells them to do.
