Is "Brexit" something Americans should be concerned about?

I do agree. While I think it is important to be at least of aware of international affairs and events (Brexit, Hong Kong protests, India and Kashmir, etc), it is best to pay closer attention to the news in one's home country.

For Americans, there is already too much concern and protests for the Trump Administration's actions regarding the Ukraine government, the impending congressional battle for the federal budget, the 2020 Presidential Election, and of course, the winners of last night's Emmys.

@Rebelofnj,
How important is knowing what's going on in Canada and Mexico to the average American? How important is it to know what Prime Minister Trudeau and the Mexican president are up to? Last I checked these guys weren't posing any kind of threat to the U.S.

I know the North American Leaders' Summit has been held every year between 2005 and 2017:

@JGoldman10,
You don't have to be threatened by another country to want/need/ought to follow what's going on with them. International politics affects economics back at home. It affects who we send troops to defend if things get dire. It affects global climate, too.

And you don't have to be personally affected to keep up with foreign affairs. Being informed and knowledgeable should also be ends unto themselves. Intellectual curiosity is something everyone should practice.

@JGoldman10,
I applaud your attempt at keeping up to date on world affairs but other than being far too dependent on Wikipedia for your sources, you have a poor lack of judgment in figuring out your more often than not clickbaity 3rd party sources with very little or zero science/politics/history credibility. And in many cases? Are just outright dangerous clickbait for the undereducated to swallow and regurgitate as evidence to your argument.

@JGoldman10,
Considering US President Trump has acted hostile to both Canada and Mexico, it is best to have some base idea on their current relations to the US.

@tsarstepan,
I never professed to be an expert on history, or current events, or world events, or social studies or global studies or politics. These were not my strong suits when I was a student.

As a Christian, and an American and as an individual I think I have enough to deal with.

I pray for myself, my family and others. I pray for the world's leaders.

You're not paying attention (despite all of these questions) are you? Tarifs imposed on Canadian goods? $ billions of tariffs? On our biggest trade partner in the WORLD?

BTW: Trudeau is a sinner. He believes that persons of the homosexual identity are human and worthy of being treated as equal citizens.

Trump accuses Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau of being ‘dishonest’ and ‘weak’

I only googled "Trump Canada".

@tsarstepan,
Trump thinks that changing wives when the one he is married too is 10 years older is the religious thing to do and having a new concubine every year is ok too. He gave a religious speech today playing to his religious hypocrites.

@tsarstepan,
Did Trump do that in person to Trudeau? Did he tear into him like he tore into McCain? You're not answering the question.

@JGoldman10,
One of Trump's common tactics is to attack the person when they are not in the same room as him, either via interviews or Twitter.

If you actually read the link, they mention that tactic:

"A less measured response to Trump came from Roland Paris, a University of Ottawa professor who formerly served as a top foreign policy adviser to Trudeau.

Paris wrote on Twitter: “Big tough guy once he’s back on his airplane. Can’t do it in person, and knows it, which makes him feel [weak]. So he projects these feelings onto Trudeau and then lashes out at him. You don’t need to be Freud. He’s a pathetic little man-child.”

@Rebelofnj,
So Trump's basically like an online bully in an online chatroom or forum or message board.

@JGoldman10,
If you paid attention to the news, you would know that.

Trump has used Twitter for years to attack his critics, politicians, the media, as well as firing members of his administration instead of doing it face to face.

Ironically, his wife First Lady Melania Trump is leading a campaign against cyberbullying.

Johnson has lost his court case.

Quote:
Boris Johnson's decision to suspend Parliament was unlawful, the Supreme Court has ruled.

Mr Johnson suspended - or prorogued - Parliament for five weeks earlier this month, saying it was to allow a Queen's Speech to outline his new policies.

But the court said it was wrong to stop Parliament carrying out its duties in the run-up to the Brexit deadline on 31 October.

Downing Street said it was "currently processing the verdict".

Delivering its conclusions, the Supreme Court's president, Lady Hale, said: "The effect on the fundamentals of our democracy was extreme."

She added: "The decision to advise Her Majesty to prorogue Parliament was unlawful because it had the effect of frustrating or preventing the ability of Parliament to carry out its constitutional functions without reasonable justification."

Lady Hale said the unanimous decision of the 11 justices was that Parliament had not been prorogued - the decision was null and of no effect - and it was for the Speakers of the Commons and Lords to decide what to do next.

Commons Speaker John Bercow welcomed the ruling and said Parliament "must convene without delay", adding that he would now consult party leaders "as a matter of urgency".
