That was hilarious. I saw an interview with this poor guy this morning. He was laughing--but moderately sheepish.

He posed, and the people formulating his campaign said--we'll put a crowd scene behind you--it's done all the time....

Didn't know it would be
1) a political crowd or certainly
2) a Democrat crowd, and MOST certainly
3) a Dean crowd.

Oh well.

De nada.

Lash peeing on her new Koran reminds me of this guy on another more local forum I post too. He could be the twin brother of the more reactionary right wing types here on A2K, a couple of who are here on this thread.

He attacks me by constantly referring to me as a no talent wanna be musician, not even a step above a karaoke singer, bla bla. Everytime I post this is his answer to everything.

So this Darwin Award candidate comes to one of my shows to make snide remarks one night. I amused myself with him from the stage a little and when I and the crowd tired of him had the cop remove him.

Here's the point. He hated me so much and felt I was a no talent waste so much that he paid his cover charge, bought drinks, got thrown out and generally made an ass of himself for the privilege.
Meanwhile it didn't bother me and in fact put money on the bottom line. HIS MONEY. MY BOTTOM LINE. Laughing

I feel certain the people who profit from the sale of Korans feel much the same about Lash, since in order to pee on her new Koran she would have to fork out the cash to buy it.

That'll show 'em honey. If you need a new nose, since you seem to want to cut yours off to spite your face I hear Michael Jackson will be having a moving sale soon.

Yeah. I did weigh the possibility that a little money in the Koranic coffers may give me indigestion---but the benefits are incalculably more than that twelve fidty.

And, what a loser to be so personal on the other thread. That's over the line. What does it profit him? Weird.

BTW, here's the last time Ill post this and I know it's a waste of time.

I love my home, and am glad to have been born and raised here.

It's the way the bush gang is raping it that I hate.

When there's something nice to say I'll be the first.

and you know what else, I have seen Brandon and others here make reactionary posts and question the patriotism of "the left" many times in response to statements made, but I cannot recall a single time I have seen a post about how wonderful America is from you. Talking about how evil your enemies are is not the same as praising your country. Patriotism is not just a hammer to be used to strike people who disagree with you.

That goodnight was for your warped minion, JTT--

But, I will have to go buy a new Koran.

Soggy....

And, you don't owe me any explanations. For me, it was more about the question than the answer...

I know it was for JTT, I was merely jesting with you dear.
As for any explanations, it wasn't one. Just a statement.
I'm going to go enjoy this beautiful hot sunny NC day and the rest of you can deal with the weighty issues. A Bear needs to play ya know.

I said praise or support. Many of my political posts are support for America's policies, statements that our soldiers were probably justified in some encounter, statements that some setback is not a sign of failure, etc. You on the other hand have countless posts that we're wrong, bad, failing, but apparently cannot come up with a single post showing any form whatever of support or praise for anything connected with America. That must be some new kind of patriotism.

" Christians do not react with wide-scale mayhem when someone burns a book. The book is paper. It has no bearing on the meaning behind the book. The ME Muslims are a different breed, though. They are intensely superstitous--and brainwashed with rote and ceremony . The ME Muslims are a different breed, though. They are intensely superstitous--and brainwashed with rote and ceremony . . "

I will believe the paragraph above when I can believe the the following paragraph:

Christians do not react with wide-scale mayhem when someone burns a US flag. The flag is cloth. It has no bearing on the meaning behind the flag. Christians are a different breed, though. They are not supersticious and are not brainwashed with rote and ceremony.

The paragraph above is patently ridiculous.

Christian superstitions, brainwashing with rote and ceremony are as prevalent as anywhere. No 13th floors in hotels. " The Star spangled banner" sung before sporting events, with all the patrons standing, hands across their hearts. The laws we have to protect the flag which is just a piece of cloth.

A down-to-earth example: some primative societies believe that a photograph of a person is really that person. You don't believe that, do you? You think that photo of your mother is only paper and is not your mother. Good! You'll have a chance to prove it. Tomorrow, each of you will all bring in a photo of your mother. We will use these photos on dart boards with your mothers' photos as bull's eyes. Fair enough?

So you believe Christians riot and kill people when they see a US flag being burned?

Got a link?

People burn the flag 24/7, Billy.

You have the right to make the statement--but now---the time has come to prove the statement.

Let's see your evidence.

And, the Christians didn't make the 13th floor rule...

Put up.

Wow......

I didn't realize that the only way to prove patriotism was to point to posts on A2K that show where you specifically support the US.

I guess that proves that none of the founders were patriotic. They never posted anything positive on A2K.

Patriotism has NOTHING to do with posting supportive comments. Any suggestion that it does shows a complete failure to understand what patriotism really means. History is filled with comments by great Americans that criticize this country.

Although it's simple, I guess I have to say it over and over before my point is understood. No one is alleging that posting on A2K is the sole method of demonstrating patriotism. No one is alleging that criticism of the government is not perfectly consistent with patriotism. Sometimes criticism of the government is proof of patriotism. Certainly, no one is lending any support whatever to loyalty oaths. What I am alleging is that if one is actually very prolific in posting here already, but it is 100% America is is wrong, America does evil, America is failing, American leaders are lying schemers, without anything appreciative of any aspect of America, no support for anything about America, that most likely is indicative of an unpatriotic, hate America attitude.

That is a very disingenuously unfair statement. I have never on this site alleged that critical comments were either bad or not consistent with patriotism, and you know it or should know it. I have only said that a steady stream of anti-American posts unrelieved by a single post showing support for or appreciation of anything about America, probably does indicate a distaste for America.

Those would be the same polls The Dems saw as portending certain victory for their side in '98, '00 '02. and '04, wouldn't they? You folks keep doin' whatever it is you're doing, and we on the right will keep doing it right in the eyes of The Electorate.
