@thack45,
Quote:Virtue signalling is the conspicuous expression of moral values. Academically, the phrase relates to signalling theory and describes a subset of social behaviors that could be used to signal virtue—especially piety among the religious.
An idiomatic expression commonly used to describe the thing is "holier than thou".
But as used by oralloy and others who are drenched in the modern right wing world, it refers to anyone on the left who advances complaints based on moral convictions (or anyone on the right who might echo such convictions that those on the left advance). For example, moral complaints that men, women and children are having their brains, guts, eyeballs, craniums splattered across schoolroom floors and the walls of nightclubs and shopping malls by young males using weaponry designed specifically to kill and maim as many humans as possible in the shortest period of time possible.
Another example would be someone like oralloy conspicuously expressing moral outrage when somebody with diarrhea squats down and let's loose a river of steaming liquid **** all over the Stars and Stripes.
