Could rayban possibly think O'Reilly is objective? He needs to remove his sunglasses.

I gather that rayban has never watched Moyers, who, when interviewing righties and religious extremists, bends over backwards to be objective.

It is a well known tactic of the "advocacy journalist" to give the appearance of being objective and balanced by giving air time to insignificant members of the opposition on a very limited time basis.........certainly nothing like equal time.

What right, rayban, do you have to make snide remarks at dyslexia, as you did in your opening?
Dyslexia certainly does not need a still wet behind the ears college freshman to defend him.

The point in my using OReilly as a reference was not whether he is objective or not; it was to emphasize that OReilly does NOT try to pass himself off as a journalist as Moyers does. OReilly often states that he is a news analyst to make it clear that he is not masquerading as something he is not. When will you supporters of Moyers realize you are being played for suckers by his(Moyers) "slick" presentation? He is leading you by the nose to drink his Koolaid and you are drunk with it as you approach the precipice

I've met dyslexia. He's a swine and a pisshandle deserving attack with switchblades and rotting dog carcasses from all sides. Regard him as you would an evangelical sodomite in a boyscout tent or Barbara Bush.

Anybody ever watch Ken Burns' "The Alamo"?

I doubt he ever shows his two-face in Texas.

Welcome back Mr. Mountie.........will you stop and visit a spell? I suspect you've been lurking and biting your tongue Cool

I must mention a one hour segment of the "the connection" that I listened to today hosted by Dick Gordon...........it is of course NPR. Dick framed the supposed debate by asking whether there should be a time table for the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq. The primary guest was one of the sponsors the recent bill on the same subject with republican Jones. He had as his other "expert" a professor from the Political Science dept of UNC Chapel Hill (UNC is a hotbed of liberal insanity controlled completely by the Left). Both his guests made a play at being objective but both were in favor of a timetable as were all his callers with the exception of one who made a very good argument by saying that the program was framed in the wrong way and gave his reasons. He was abruptly cut off off for other callers even after the Congressional rep said he was correct. This is the sort of "objective" NPR bias that we object to and there was no evidence that Tomlinsons words or guidance had any effect on this program. Gordon was fairly panting with joy that he was leading all callers by the nose to agree that there should be a timetable even if it sends the wrong message to the terrorists.

This program is typical of NPR in that Gordon and his producers are Anti Bush, Anti war, pro multiculturalist and pro liberal even though they know they are under fire for being so.

I didn't see Burns' show on "The Alamo" but I'm guessing that he didn't present the John Wayne version of what happened there. For those interested in learning more, I suggest: "Three Roads to the Alamo: The Lives and Fortunes of David Crockett, James Bowie, and William Barret Travis" by William C. Davis.

And, BTW, I first saw this book for sale at the Alamo's gift shop. Bowie and Travis, in particular, were remarkably clever in trying to make a buck in the Old West...

To think UNC won the Men's NCAA B-Ball Championship this year despite the leftist domination. The mind boggles...

Can leftists be good in sports?

I don't think UNC is any different than most universities these days. The "Diversity of everything but thought" thread discusses this in great detail, though I can't recommend you all read it unless you have a spare decade.

Sounds like my daughter is going to fit right in....she understands that her ethics and her decisions about her behavior have to come from her. She doesn't have to look to any authority to tell her how to think. She is a fine person and student and she knows how to have fun. She should enjoy it while she has it.

This gives the proper perspective to the PBS argument:

RE: THE LEFT

"[A]rguing over whether PBS is and has long been politically liberal is like arguing over whether the ocean is and has long been wet. Of course it is, and everyone knows it. Not just Republicans, but Democrats. I doubt you could find a Democratic senator who, forced to announce the truth, standing at the gates of heaven and being questioned by St Peter, would not, on being asked, 'By the way, is PBS liberal?' answer, 'Of course.' Or, 'Yes, but don't tell Tom Delay I knew.' Just about every Democrat on the Hill, and in the newsrooms of our country and the faculty lounges, knows that PBS in general reflects a liberal worldview. That's why they like it. That's why they want to keep it." --Peggy Noonan

Not at all. They all strive to tie.

What makes you think the Tar Heel basketball team are Leftists?

Thankfully, capitalism drives even weak kneed bastions of Leftism like UNC.

College basketball is big business, and particularly so in North Carolina.

I wonder how the committed Leftists at UNC feel about the university exploiting young African Americans who, in the main, would never have been accepted to UNC unless they could play hoops.

Why not Blatham?

The LEFT has been shaping and revising the news since WW11 and it's only fair that the public takes it back because instead of presenting the facts, the liberal media wanted to "brainwash" the public. In the final analysis the "PUBLIC" will determine the winner of this struggle but the election of 2004 gives a good indication of the trend.........down with liberal elitism, multiculturalism, and pandering to every voiciferous minority group.

Have a nice day Laughing
