I'm going to try to get tickets for the first game. They go on sale tomorrow at noon. I don't know if I'll be able to get them but if I get the chance I'm going for it.
Being an Astros fan, I am keeping quiet until the last game is played in the current series. Not going to jinx it.
Close one last night Edgar... that Albert is a pesky batter isn't he?
Did you get tickets, jp? I saw that they sold out in about 20 mins.
I have to fault Garner for not going to the mound with a man on first and his pitcher throwing like a kid who's convinced the game's over.
that dinger was a momentum-shifter, i think...

THink again...
Agreed, I thought with Oswalt starting as the pitcher St.Louis didn't stand a chance against him. It's not so much for Oswalt's "overpowering" pitches or anything. If you take a look at the way he is he's just confident and composed. I'm not sure how White sox gonna beat him it'll be interesting... (I don't think White sox will be able to beat him though).
i was expecting St.L to scratch and claw last night, forcing a game 7.
its obvious that la russa has lost his motivational tools...
The Cards have underachieved the past two years, one might argue.
On a personal note, I'm so glad that Leo Mazzone will not be coaching for NYY next year. The thought of him rocking next to Joe Torre made me physically ill...
looking at how quickly girardi landed a manager's gig (one year as torre's bench coach), compared to randolph's 8 year apprenticeship,
i think its safe to conclude that racism still exists to some degree in MLB...
Indeed it is...
(Isn't it great that the sports threads are so civil? Can you imagine how this issue might inspire a food fight if it were the topic on a political thread?)
One down three to go.
I was at a bar next to Wrigley watching the game last night. I was happy to see nothing but Sox (or as the new phrase in wrigleyville goes) Chicago fans at the bar. I was wondering how the atmosphere was going to be around there and found out its all supporting the Sox.
joe crede looks like a big-game player...
Goodness. They're men of destiny....all that whining jpn...lol
podsednick bailed out jenks last night.
2 dingers in the playoffs after hitting zero all year -- he needs a steroids test, pronto!
Podsednik not only saved Jenks' butt, he saved his own as well. His throw from shallow left on the the tying run was as weak as any I've seen. Dude should have been out by 20 feet.
But hey, go Sox!
where in the heck is this jp character?
dangit, its time to get excited already...
