You read it Bernie. When I scored zero points I gave up. It stood its Aunt Sally up and then knocked it down. It was the same old stuff although better written than usual.

Can you not write your own posts? It's a one-way megaphone fastened on a steam-roller. A rant really.

Just wondering:

Is stuff like this a quaint old English expression or just from the voices in your head. Perhaps a Thorazine drip may be more appropriate for your condition. Maybe bring it up with the doctor on your next visit. Laughing

Don't worry new psychotropic drugs are in the pipline...hold on spendi...hold on!

That was a really elementary metaphor.

Such things are simply a matter of style. Those too lazy or too stupid to think up such aids to swift comprehension might well be tempted to offer disparaging comments about them. They would wouldn't they, as the actress said when she heard that a spokesperson for the Synod was denying she had performed the dance of the seven veils at the piss-up.

Come on spendi, compared to you who couldn't be deemed stupid or lazy. Just to be compared in some way to you makes my day!

Hey C.I. spendi compared me to himself Surprised

Spit on me spendi, I'm in the first row Exclamation

I try to keep apples and oranges separate in my world; spendi is apple and TCR is orange. Once we bite into the apple, we're stuck for life; it's addictive.

Sure. And a poet, reading to others, can read aloud nothing but his own poetry. Or, if we need another example, a prof can put only his books on the students' reading list.

By the by...are you familiar with the work of David Milch (American writer for TV), "Deadwood" in particular? All in all, it's 36 hours of pure joy. I exect you can get it over there, America being the new crest of civilization.

You'll need a whirling dickie-bow for this one TCR.

To my mind anti-ID is revolutionary in that it represents a full-frontal attack on the settled acceptance of the hierarchical structure of society which is, however imperfectly, legitimised by a Divine source being associated with the elite in ceremonial processes just as scientifically verifiable as the process whereby one comes to feel superior by shopping at Bloomingdale's.

The anti-IDers on here, and most others, are the poor bloody infantry who throw themselves forward into no-man's land oblivious of what they are about.

At the conscious intellectual level, Judge Jones notwithstanding, it aims at undermining the character structure engineered by the ruling classes over 1,000 years through their agents within the family, the church and the schools and on which the present organisation of society depends for its preservation as we know it and at weakening, ultimately destroying, the tensions between self-assertiveness and social restraint. Such tensions exist, as a fact, in all societies at the economic and the social/psychological (sexual) levels of organised human life.

Freud said that sexual repression, and presumably lesser forms of self-assertiveness, is thesine qua non of civilised life and Reich, being a Marxist at the time, said that the chief social function of sexual repression was to secure the existing class structure. And that the criticism by such repression is criticism of today's society.

To the extent that these tensions are thought necessary the decline of religion and the family and the school throw the burden of maintaining and managing them, as well as maybe, onto legislation and its enforcement which, with self-assertiveness being released by those declines ultimately requiring levels of terror (Orwell) or scientifically (artificially) created minds (Huxley).

Anti-ID aims to weaken the influence of family, church and school and obstruct their effects on the young.

As Miles Copeland always said --"Who gains?

The economic beneficiaries of anti-ID are self-evidently Big Business, Social Services, media, the legal profession and the scientific establishment, all of whose services will be needed to prevent anarchy as social restraint ceases to be arranged under the guidance of Divine Authority, however cynically manipulated, and which is very cost effective by comparison with what that alliance has in mind.

Those institutions, and their vast array of ancillaries, are seeking to break the old monopoly the Church used to have in managing the control of natural self-assertiveness. Obviously they are content to leave food production and other low status industrial activities alone. They are only interested in the stuff where "talk" is the limit of what is required of them.
They have even arrived at the point where a meeting or a conference or a symposium is a quasi-religious occasion and worthy of admiration without reference to the subject. Merely being present is a sign of social virtue.

And they have a vested interest in creating the social problems caused by a lack of internalised social restraints and, being human themselves, their own self assertiveness has the ambition to control everything and to become a sort of god which, in my opinion, it is perilous to worship.

At bottom, anti-ID is an attack on Capitalism, Private Property, Family, Dignity, Patriarchy, Love, Beauty, Art and in the end Science itself with Sexual Licence to sugar the pill. (Original Sin.)

As Reich wrote after studying Marx, Bachofen, Malinowski and much else-

Quote:
When we consider that mother-right (matriarchy) is chacacterized by primitive communism and by the farthest-reaching sexual freedom, while father-right, wherever we encounter it, is characterized by private ownership, the enslavement of women, and sexual repression similar to our own, it is apparent that the first state is much closer to the natural state than the second one.. Therefore, if one wished to derive matriarchy from patriarchy it would be necessary to assume a violent reversal of historical development, the transformation of a highly complicated organism into a more primitive, more natural one. Every principle of historical scholarship would have to be abandoned in such a view.

I presume you all have a vague working knowledge of "farthest-reaching sexual freedom".

In the nature of the case - "You will wind up peeking through her keyhole down uopn your knees", (Bob Dylan--She Belongs To Me.)

You would be back to the Courts of Love. How could anyone with Lola's avvie not be an anti-IDer.

It is one thing to swing it past Judge Jones avoiding any references or even hints of matters which his daughters might faint clean away on hearing but it quite another to impeach the likes of Marx, Freud and Reich.

Cripes- the very structures you live among are 'in your face' evidence that anti-ID is totally unscientific.

The matriarchies produced nothing in all their long and unlamented existence when life was really nasty, brutish and short.

I can't see how any scientific mind could argue with that and especially not one in a nation which had a collective nervous breakdown when a tit was flashed at the Superbowl.

Instead of the thorazine drip you might want to go straight to a thorazine push!

I notice the repeated quotes of the loser Bob Dylan. Lets see, his last album was a plagiarism of an obscure Japanese author's book. What next a quote from the Spice girls. Laughing Laughing Laughing

You may have noticed that the female mammary glands were exposed at about the same time the U.S. CIA and the British equivalent were discussing WMDs with Bush&Blair with a certain disregard for the facts of the matter. The boobs got the attention Sad Not the fibbing Exclamation

At about the same time as Christians were murdering Muslims in the former Yugoslavia a certain U.S. President was getting his knob polished in the White House. The knob polishing got the attention Sad Not the U.N. sponsored murdering)

There is still no sign of any intelligence permeating the Universe Sad Perhaps we wouldn't be able to recognize it anyways.

I kind of wonder if the Bushies had to pay Janet Jackson Question

I came on A2K in the first place to find out about things.

Is a thorazine push better than 4 pints of John Smith's Extra Smooth? Is it cheaper? Does it oil the dry clack? Do you lean on the interface lusting the barmaid, keeping one eye on the footie and listening to the tales of woe whilst it is pushing.

Anybody thinks they found anything better than beer is pissing in the wind.

aka-- It's imposible to polish knobs. I have studied that aspect of evolution exhaustively and I have seen not one iota of shine ever.

I'm sure the barmaid would find you as coruscating on the one as the other. If you shared the thorazine with her she MIGHT let you play a Dylan tune (and I use the term "tune" loosely), not gonna happen if she is just drunk. So the thorazine may have an overall plus for you.

Gee- And I thought I had given you chaps something to get your teeth into back there.

I looked up DEADWOOD on Google. It seems, at first glance, to be another of those American series which everybody thinks is ironic but is actually deadly serious underneath and is designed to tickle up the vicarious sense of being tough and cynical and fast talking off a heavily revised script or, if one happens to be ladylike, a feeling of that sexual promiscuity which all good looking ladies have a yen for but are constrained to hold back on in the interests of the state and general all-round decorum.

It sort of psychoanalyses the viewer in an ink-blot scenario and is likely to provide little attention grabbers to wake up drooping viewers immediately preceeding the ads. Probably with mildly titillating sexual intonations at the beta minus pitch.

What you want are pain or euphoria inducing bets on football or cricket matches for decent TV.

I find the acting profession somewhat "campy". Even the local amateurs are "unusual". And all that cutting and pasting is worse than the Bible although the miracles are better.

I don't watch TV Bernie.

I'm not that mean. I think its nice that he has a fan. But ya have to admit at least the spice girls can write meaningless drivel without having to plagiarize it.

It's old hat. Graham Parker shouted into the mike at Blachbushe to a 1/4 of a million fans that he'd stolen the lot. But that was hours before Bob stalked onstage to sing Love Her With A Feeling Or Else Don't Love Her At All with a band he had played to packed arenas round the world with.

You stole "plagiarize" out of the dictionary.

But- go on then. Explain about this obscure Japanese. After all, it's a serious charge you make in some people's estimation so you ought to justify it on a science thread.

I never met one girl who ever had an original idea so I can't see the Spice Girls having any either. By some definitions they are "wantons". And if you find them reducibly complex no wonder you are an anti-IDer.

I'll leave it to the "interested student" to find the other Dylan lifts.

Woody Guthrie's doctors said they believe it was news that a talentless twit named Dylan was trying to imitate his music that triggered Guthrie's Huntington's Chorea and so ended the career of a REAL songwriter.

No problem, spendi. My uncle Irving didn't buy a single further LP from Dylan after the Fender amp thing. And I like Irving too.
