It was $1.039 a litre on Thursday. A rumour was about that gas would to over $2.00 per litre and this created long lineups at the pumps. Some stations ran out of gas.
We heard that, in some places, the price shot up to about $2.50 per litre....price gouging at it's worst.
This is Sunday and the prices are still about $1.04 per litre. This would be equivalent of about $4.00 per gallon in the U.S.
2.86 in NW New Mexico. Highest in New Mexico except for Santa Fe, and well above the national average as of last Friday.

It was about $1.41/litre when I was on my way to see the hamburgers about 8 days ago. It was $0.98/litre on our way home from dog camp tonight.

I did a little cost exercise yesterday.
Filled tank.......drove 103 miles at motorway speed averaging 80mph, in a 2 litre saloon car.
Filled tank at other end........cost £11. ($16 or$17)
All to visit the mother in law.......I should have entered this into the "what made you grimace" thread, I suppose.
$2.80 per gal in Spokane, WA - Costco
regular unleaded is at $3.03 per gallon here.
I filled up yesterday in Raleigh at $2.85 per gallon. Tonight the same station was at $3.07.
$2.99 today in Eastern Iowa. Yesterday it was $2.79.
Yesterday 2.45---today one place had it at 3.50.

They said to anticipate it going up before it goes down--and soon.
I have never paid this much.
South Georgia.
2.89 most stations today in NW NM. That's up a dime since yesterday.
I don't pay for gas, I drive up to the pump in my best republican costume, stand beside the car and wave my AARP card (looks like a credit card) and the numbnut inside the windowed box turns the pump on, I fill the tank and drive off. ( I don't do this when driving the Porsche)
My bike is too slow for quick getaways too.
I'm paying, as for the last couple of weeks, 3.17 for cheapo. I meant to post that earlier but got caught up on trying to figure what that is in price per liter...
$2.98 here today, up six cents since yesterday.
$3.00 a gallon to gas up the company van, whcih probably gets 15 mpg in city traffic. We religiously haul our scrap cardboard to the recycling center (a gallon away). One of my employees (who finished high school) asked "Does this make sense?" I minored in econ in college and did some grad classes in econ. I am a liberal (read evironmentalist) but I had trouble making the arguement that recyling was, particularly now, efficient by any standard. Help!
