And a third time, obviously you've never been raped or known someone who was.

Educate yourselves. Rape is NOT about sex. Watchmaker has a few things right in the previous post....rape can be about power, revenge, hate, anger...however, none of these include sexual appetite. The rapist is turned on by the power they hold over the person they are raping.

Myths about sex offenders

Myth: "Castration would solve the sex-offender-problem."
Fact: Rapists act out of anger, rage, and fear. They will continue to find ways to inappropriately act on these feelings, even if they are castrated. While sex is the weapon used in an act of pure violence, rape is more about what's inside the mind of the offender, rather than what is between his legs.

Myth: "Offenders are unintelligent."
Fact: Most sex offenders are actually quite intelligent. A sex offenders' behavior has little to do with intelligence. A sex offender acts in response to stress. His inability to appropriately manage stress is a primary factor in his offending behavior.

Myth: "He just has trouble controlling his sex drive"
Fact: Rape is an expression of anger, fear, rage-- not sexual desire. A sex offender chooses to violate his victims.

Please see our section" Myths About Sexual Violence" for more information on common misconceptions about rape and sexual assault.

What was their view about being accompanied by an Altar boy though?
I suppose you would have to ask a priest about that.

I wonder how many of "those" Catholic priests in America were standing up in the Pulpit on Sundays, denouncing self abuse?

Ive heard lots of religious people say masturbation and sexual desire are sins but I'm having a very hard time agreeing with that. These are just natural habits and I really don't see why god would sin us for it. Why would god create us to do things he doesn't like?

Bellea DEa i think you need to change your aspect of "YOu can;t judge something until it has happened to you" theory. Think about this when your going to sleep tonight

If i tell you that jumping in front of a moving truck will kill you, in your opinion you cannot know until you have been hit by a truck.

As a man, and therefore a potential rapist, I must object to that. Obviously I have never been raped, and I don't really know anyone that has, but that does not mean that I have no insight into what goes through a man's head when he rapes someone. It seems obvious to me that men rape for reasons of power and control. But it seems even more obvious to me that sexual appetite comes into it. I think we need to remember what rape is - forced sex. Yes? Rape IS sex! I don't doubt that the rapist is 'turned on by the power they hold over the person they are raping' - but that is still sexual appetite! If power and control gives me a hard-on, I have a sexual appetite for power and control. Maybe sexual appetite for the actual person being raped doesn't actually come into it (I think it certainly does most of the time, but it's open to debate), but it's ridiculous to deny that rape is a sexual act and that rapists are acting on their sexual appetite for something - be it power, control, boobs, or whatever.

I wouldn't even try to tell you I have never masturbated. Heck, I was born before the years had numbers; I've had plenty of time to live and learn. I speak for men and can only opine about women.

I submit that masturbation is a harmful practice. Think about it: what goes through your mind while beating the chicken? your term paper on the industrial revolution? Hah! Don't tell me; I think I already know. I submit that 99.99% of masturbation fantasies involve adultery or fornication. (Or worse, rape)

So, what's so bad about that? Well, there are few things more pleasurable than orgasm; and here you are rewarding your adulterous thoughts with this powerful climax. Remember what Jesus said about those who even think about adultery? What would he say to those who embellish their thoughts with prestidigitation?

I suggest if you are a habitual masturbator, you should try to find some other outlets for your energy. I'd suggest talking to your priest, but, well, you know. . .

I'm not a Christian, so can I prestidiwotsit??

I think the reason you feel guilty afterwards stems more from the frustration of desiring a lover but not having one. Ultimately it's a disappointed. The failure to merge with another person intimately. That's what you feel bad about.

But, you could feel guilty about what your fantasizing about. Your neighbors wife? Your friends girlfriend?

Course then again masterbation could serve to curtail your wanton desire to breed everything on two legs with a skirt.

It's the first commandment in the Bible. "Be fruitful and multiply!" Could have been God ...sure. But, it might have been Moses sitting around thinking ...sheesh, I better put this in now, in the beginning. It's obvious these people are crazy!

Look, masterbation is sex. In your mind there's another person ...possibly several. Sex is not wrong, it just depends on the context. Try to imagine the best scenario to relieve your guilt ...if you have any.

I added the parentheses later, because of reading about what I hope is a small percentage of men. Pat; I'm happy you have never had such a fantasy. To assume that no one else ever had is naive

Wait, you're saying that 99.99% of men's mastubatory fantasies include fornication? What a scientific break through!
