Nature has given us a powerful sex drive, almost as strong as thirst and hunger. Without it we would have long disappeared as a species.

To satisfy the urge' humans ( and others) invented self gratification. It is an outlet which quells your thirst for immediate sex (which is not always available).

Anyone arguing against it is either a religious fanatic or a control freak. Control freaks are the men in African tribes who order the removal of the clitoris of young girls, who might want to pleasure themselves. Now that is control !!!
