Last year The Pistons were a matchup from hell. They could hit you in the mouth and then bring in speedy Mike James, and perimeter big man threat Okur. They replaced those 2 players with lesser parts. Arroyo was ran out of Utah, and can't decide whether he wants to play or not, and McDyess has lost nearly all his ability.

They are just not as good as they were last year...Simple.

I tempted to ask you if you've watched more than five Pistons games this year. Arroyo v. James and McDyess v. Okur is your argumant? I'm as big of a fan of those two guys as anyone, but the notion McDyess and Arroyo aren't capable of doing much the same job is kind of silly.

I'll grant you the bench in general is a concern. But the loss of James and Okur is not making any Pistons fan lose sleep, trust me.

...anyone see the amazing show that Steve Nash has been putting on lately? That boy can play! Holy ****, I haven't seen a white guy put on a show like that since Larry Bird!

But unfortunately, the Spurs play defense, unlike Dallas, and they have a real coach, unlike Dallas. I'd really like to see Phoenix beat them, just because the Spurs are horribly boring to watch, in my opinion, but I think the Spurs are going to take that series.

What do you guys think?

I've compared Nash to Stockton, as opposed to Bird, but I'm with you - he's the best whiteboy to come along in a while.

As for the series, I'd like to see the Suns and Pistons matchup in the finals: great offense v. great defense is more exciting than great defense v. great defense. But, since I'm taking the Pistons to win the East, philosophically I should take the Spurs to take the West.

Spurs v. Pistons finals.

Shaq rolled his eyes when he heard Nash had won the MVP...and then good-naturedly agreed with the choice.

For some reason the playoffs this year seem more interesting and exciting. I'll have my fingers crossed for my Heat but like the local S Florida sportscasters I think the Pistons have too much horsepower.

I think he agreed just to avoid the brouhaha that would have ensued, had he voiced his (real) opinion.

Pistons didn't even break a sweat. Heat better come a lot stronger than that if they hope win a game in this series.

Just my opinion.

He doesn't suck (although I know you say that tongue in cheek). It's just that he's never seen a defense like this.

Well, strike that, he has: it's the same defense that held him to FIVE points the last time the teams met, and the same defeanse that seems to consistantly hold him to EIGHT points below his season average.

What was that about Wade being so much better than Kobe? I saw dude jack shots he had no business taking all night long

Seems to be a theme when you play the best team in the league.

But I've been saying this for weeks already. I trust this game came as no surprise; nor should it be a surprise when the Pistons lead 3-1, and then take the series in six. ::YAWN::

Wow, the tempo certainly has changed in this thread. I suppose everyone is waiting for a Heat victory tonight before heckling the Pistons resumes.

Oh ****, I forgot about the heckling! You must be feeling pretty good, Omar. Your team avoided the sweep. So I guess it will be a five game series now. Oh well. Can't win 'em all.

Don't cry tonight when the Pistons lose.

Having your team knocked out in the first round allows you to observe quite a lot of the real world doesn't it?

Actually, I'm really just an Iverson fan. My team is the Knicks, so I know exactly what the real world is like, and let me tell you...it sucks!

Don't try to smooth things over with me! This is trash talking time! The NBA playoffs without trash talk is the pre-season. Be a Heat fan for three more games for a change.

I missed the game because I watched the Allen Iverson interview. He was talking about kissing Mo Cheeks in the mouth. Yukk
