I think Kobe is the best player in the league. He's a cocky prick, but he's unbelievable on the court.

And by the way, about the Mavs. They're a good team, and I like them. It's their owner that sucks. What an obnoxious little bitch.

I don't know how the guy really is; I can only go by what we see on the tube. Like with Larry Bird, I have to respect the guy's basketball talent - and it is huge. But I think he is a trainwreck of a petulant self-centered a-hole human being.

From what I can see on the tube...

kobe scored 65 and 50 the last 2 games (both wins after they dropped 7 straight).

if he changed his ways earlier, he's back to being a ball-hog again.

also, what's with the flailing forearm?
natural motion my ass...

Word is Jackson told Kobe the team was flailing and he needed to start taking over after the seven game slide. Scary that he can respond like that.

As a lifelong Kings fan, though, I've known since that forearm to Bibby's face in the conference finals (if not before) that Kobe's a cheap-shot artist. He's always led with his elbow in a way that is not a basketball move. Nothing new, though. And nothing I didn't occasionally use as an slow and undersized high school player...

Remember when Doug Christie punched the **** out of him a few years ago after a game? That's what I call a nice shot.

I like Phoenix too and it's sad to see that they'd get such a beating like that from A.I. and Co. and it's pretty ironic when AI usually takes a beating he delivered one to the Suns for sure. I don't think I've ever seen the Suns massacred like this in a LONG while.

Steve Nash for MVP!!! (If others get chosen then it's a pretty selfish game...)

Oh, yeah speaking of MVP what do you think of the MVP race? Who do you think deserves the MVP? I know Nowitzki is carrying his teamthis year. Still I don't think it will be right for anybody else except Nash to be MVP only b/c he makes his teammates better... and if I'm not mistaken aren't his numbers better this year than last? WOW, simply remarkable.

I remember a fight with Rick Fox, but not with Kobe.

With Christie's wife swinging her purse and Fox, no doubt, worried about his Hollywood-wannabe face? Yeah, good stuff.

I remember that Rick Fox thing too, but the one I'm talking about was definitely Kobe and Christie. They talked some **** back and forth on the court, and then off the court, near the tunnel on the way to the lockers, Christie nailed him right in the face. Come on, somebody tell me you remember this. It was probably five years ago or so.

The only person on the whole internet who seems to remember other than me is some guy on some other forum.

"Christie punching Kobe in the jaw"--third poster on the page.

linky link

So either me and this guy are both misremembering it, or everybody else has smoked way too much pot.

The Rick Fox thing carried over into the tunnel. Mebbe it happened there. I have an image of my head of Christie putting a weak uppercut into Kobe's jaw, but I don't have a circumstance for it.

Yeah, it could have been a carryover thing from that. I remember it being a good solid punch though. Oh well, I guess we'll never know for sure how it happened. Too bad youtube wasn't around then.
