Well it's the boring time of the year, no basketball, football and only baseball.

For an entertaining basketball note, check out this clip of a 720 dunk . Some guy on the AND1 tour pulled it off. If you are bored and need a little live basketball this summer you can win free tickets to the AND1 tour evetns at the truth

As for free agency, some pretty interesting moves so far and I'm sure more to come with AI moving and others. The East keeps getting better . . . besides the Knicks that is. The Raptors sure are a hell of a lot better and they just added John Salmons as well.

Wow, nobody's had anything to say in this thread since the summer. Well the NBA's kickin off again. As for the Toronto Raptors people were impressed with their 7-1 preseason record. To be honest I couldn't careless b/c they started the regular season 0-1 and now 3-8 including the win over Cavs & LeBron just now. Thank goodness for the home cookin and hopefully they can start a winning streak.

The Nuggets have too much future to deal for AI. They'd be damn fools.

Anyway, Karl dealt with Gary Payton all those years -- hard to imagine he'd want to deal with Iverson now.

its a done deal already.
Quote:
Allen Iverson is headed to Denver. The Sixers finally shipped the disgruntled All-Star to the Nuggets for two first-round draft picks in 2007 and two players -- Andre Miller and Joe Smith.

You've gotta be kidding me. What are they thinking? They've got no shot at the title this year, Miller is a solid player they could afford to keep on the payroll for years to come. (Though Joe Smith's contract is ridiculously large, if I remember right.) And it's too late for AI to get Nuggets games on TV. Maybe they want a piece of the jersey sales...

I don't understand the way some NBA teams do business.

I wonder if Karl will put Boykins and Iverson on the court together. It could be the all-wee-man backcourt.

I'm with you, Patio, about the lack of sympatico between Iverson and Karl. I don't think Karl is going to want to kowtow to him in the way to which he has grown accustomed.

When he was younger, he was all right about it, with Payton and Shawn Kemp.

But later, when he was with the bucks and had to deal with Glenn Robinson et al., he just seemed miserable. But, then, he's tight with Larry Brown, and Brown dealt with AI, so maybe he thinks he's got some inside info.

I recall reading, when Karl coached Peyton in Seattle, that Peyton respected Karl because he knew that Karl was just crazy enough to take a swing at him.

I predict a short and unpleasant B-ball marriage between Karl and "the answer".

I wonder how much longer Iverson will be in the league. For all that's wrong with the guy, he takes a beating every night and goes back for more.

At some point, bits of him are just going to start falling off.

Haven't been following Denver too well if I'm not mistaken though Iverson seems like a non-factor into their recent success (kinda). Ah, there's another team however that is creeping into the Top 5 power rankings... close... all so close... another push and once OFFICIALLY confirmed they have made the playoffs then I will say more. Right now I keep my mouth shut and will leave it at potential coach/MVP candidates of the year. Most likely Nash is gonna get it though either way it's all good. Hopefully they don't give it to Dirk after they lost an 2OT thriller to the Suns at home. We can smell the playoffs approaching... all so close. Hopefully the Suns win the title this year if my team doesn't get far. Any team other than the Mavs.

Nothing with the players of Mavs they all right. Anyways just wondering what you guys think of Kobe Bryant now? What's ppl sayin about him now? Cause I know that he's an ego-maniac all that 1 vs 5 doing it all himself and gets the spotlight and all.

How about now? I heard that some people were saying that he's different and that he's not as egotistic as he used to be. He's also not as selfish (supposedly) used to be. I guess that's partly true since the Lakers are doing well. Well I thought the bigger reason is b/c they replaced Mimms with Bynum. What do you guys think?

kobe scored 65 and 50 the last 2 games (both wins after they dropped 7 straight).

if he changed his ways earlier, he's back to being a ball-hog again.

also, what's with the flailing forearm?
natural motion my ass...
