With any luck at all, she will manage to hold on to her seat until November. She seems a very tough lady. But if she is going to die, she dies, she can't fight death. Roberts don't always go along with Trump, but he does go along with normal conservatives. So he is unpredictable. For the most part, you are right, it is heavily titled extreme far right. We can thank all those who didn't pick Hillary in 2016 for that. At the end of the 2016 primary, there were only two viable choices, Hillary and Trump. They chose to let Trump win, thus we have a far right Trump court. It's that simple. I am hoping people don't make the same choice as 2016, either voting green or not voting or even bizarrely voting Trump which gives Trump the win.

The people who HELPED elect Trump by refusing to back Hillary Clinton are as much a part of the problem with America as are Trump and his supporters. I have as little respect for them and their supposed "ethical imperatives" as I so for those who think Trump is worthy of the office.

@Frank Apisa,
Why do you think it is so terrible for us to have judges who uphold the Constitution?

Personally I like it when my civil liberties are protected.

With Roberts being unpredictable, (look at today's ruling on an abortion case), and Ginsberg being so frail, it is still important to think seriously hard what party the president is going to be in November for all progressives and liberal democrats and independent left leaning voters and even for moderate republicans. Please don't hand it to Trump for him to appoint another far right judge. If we get a young left judge and Thomas getting older too and Roberts being unpredictable. we still have a chance of stopping the republicans from getting an all republican US Supreme Court. Think about the police reforms people are begging for now, if we don't want a sure defeat in the courts, we got to vote Biden.

@revelette1,
What do you have against a Supreme Court that actually upholds the Constitution?

Mr. Biden will appoint justices that will maliciously allow our civil liberties to be violated.

The police reform is a election stunt. The Democrats are not trying to work with Republicans to pass it. They are trying to make sure it doesn't pass so they can accuse the Republicans of blocking it.

But if it did pass, I see no reason to think that Republican justices would vote to strike it down.

Do these civil liberties involve anything other than firearms?

Yes — perpetrated by the Republicans; an aspirational bill that doesn't do anything but make it look like they, for once, cared.

The other side refused to work with them. The GOP would still allow choke holds and leave qualified immunity for police intact.

Not the ones that Mr. Biden plans to violate.

There are other civil liberties of course.

I think the Democrats could get a lot of Republican support for their bill if they reached out to them.

I don't know if they could get it passed, but they'd have a shot. Even I'm in favor of the Democrats' bill. And although I'm not a Republican, I'm certainly a hardliner when it comes to BLM.

I don't think the Democrats even want to try to pass it. I think they just want to blame the Republicans for blocking it.

Employer-Based Health Care, Meet Massive Unemployment

The coronavirus pandemic is exposing a central flaw in America’s health care system.

In other words, America has created the most expensive, least effective health care system in the modern world, and the most vulnerable Americans have been paying for that failure with their lives since long before the coronavirus came to town.

Hickenlooper won against a more “progressive” candidate.

Amy McGrath won against a more “progressive” candidate.

We have some more hope in November.

I truly get what some black activists are saying - that Biden is beholden enough to the black community that he should select one of the many qualified black women on his short list for veep. But, I’m also glad to see that there are some black activists that are open to a Warren selection. I think she’d be excellent.

Do you comrade? Black people are being used to effect political change that will change nothing for them. They will remain in shitty schools, the families will remain fatherless, and the Black on Black crime will get worse.

Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders Deepen Their Cooperation

Allies Biden and Sanders unveiled a sweeping set of joint policy recommendations on Wednesday,
a significant if tentative sign of cooperation among Democrats as Mr. Biden’s campaign continues
its appeals to the progressive left.

Mr. Biden is expected to adopt many of the recommendations, which were submitted by six policy
task forces and cover a wide range of issues including health care, criminal justice, education
and climate change
