@Olivier5,
Biden’s answer to the BlackLivesMatter / progressive demands for DefundThePolice is to raise police funding further into the stratosphere to protect the new-plantation system designed to skirt around the 13th amendment and profit from slavery.

Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

This is why legalizing pot is fought against by the oligarchs and their mouthpieces. It legalized slavery.

How in the **** do rich boys get away with doing drugs constantly, but black men spend their lives incarcerated for NOTHING. Keep them poor, desperate enough to risk petty crimes, and enslave them for profits.

Biden and Clinton were the primary architects of the New Jim Crow whether you like it or not—and you are complicit if you vote for Biden whether you like it or not.

I know you're in love with The Mushroom.

But don't bite -- this one is a poisonous political mushroom. Stick to the psilos.

It’s ridiculous that pot is still illegal. It is only so as a weapon against black people. #Amendment13

A third hit is just as satisfying. It was so good having an adult in the Oval Office.

@Lash,
Yes, I confess to having a long list of political heroes, including Bernie Sanders. That's why I am a real Bernite. Fanatical, a knife between my teeth, strong in my belief that he knows best... :-)

There's MLK and Mandela on that list too, very very high up. And also Angela Davis, Nina Simone, JFK, Malcom X and Michael Moore. Also Louise Michel, Jean Jaurès, Blum, de Gaulle, Mitterrand, Christiane Taubira and Cabu, though their names won't say you much.

I have many others. People who fought the good fight, smart people, radical people, who challenge the world to become better. People I respect. My own personal shrine of elders.

They were (are) not perfect -- who is? But they were (are) good leaders, excellent leaders, and I for one am ready to take what they say (said) seriously, understanding and respecting the coherence of their approach, the overall logic in their life, the thrust of their work, taken as one work, not as meaningless bit and pieces. I'm not picking and choosing with my heroes. I take them as they are, whole. Because I can see the coherence in their logic.

Sanders is politically coherent in his strategy. You are not. He is as intellectually honest as a politician can be. You are not. He is supporting Biden, whom he likes as a person and friend even though they disagree on many things. You are not.

As I recon, you are a fair-weather Bernite, or no Bernite at all.

They didn’t think they had as much to learn.
The more you learn, the more you realize how little you really know...unless you think you already know everything.

@Lash,
Develop a logical and persuasive argument for not voting against Trump (or ina way that makes it easier for him to win) Lash, and we’ll see how much you’ve learned.

@Olivier5,
Bernie probably comes closer to where I want to see this nation go than anyone else...but I never for a second hoped he would be the person opposing Trump in November.

The political motto that prevails here is: "Don't Let the Perfect Be the Enemy of the Good."

It has been said in many ways:

Voltaire wrote, "The best is the enemy of the good.”

Confucius, said, "Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without."

In King Lear, Shakespeare had Albany declare, "Striving to better, oft we mar what’s well."

Bernie Sanders was not the way to go in 2016 and he is not the way to go in 2020.

Take a look at the past two or so pages of this thread—probably the bulk of most pages on this site.

Nobody has the balls to make Joe Biden’s case here. No one can say anything to honestly promote Joe Biden without comparing him to Trump. And, as bad as Trump is, Biden’s comparison doesn’t pass muster.

So, the echo chamber here spends hours, days, months, years attacking people who tell the truth about Joe Biden, the DNC, CAP and the reigning corruption that fills all of them. This place is 90% ad hominem now—a perfect metaphor for our disgusting duopoly—and the two shitstain political parties that have destroyed our hopeful experiment.

I wonder what anyone thinks when they click in here. It looks like a kindergarten playground.

Shoulda voted for Bernie. It’s all over now. We don’t have time to stop the demise of our country or our world.
